This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Sandy Kopan who was born on May 16, 1953 and passed away on March 15, 2011. We will remember her big smile, her adventuresome spirit, and her sassiness forever.  We hope you will use this website and post any tributes, stories or memories of Sandy you would like to share with her friends and family.

At this point we are planning to hold memorial services in both Montana and New York.

Hey Neighbor- I can't believe it has been almost 1 year since you left us. I think about you everyday and the house is constantly reminding me of our memories. Remember when we sat out til 3 am in the blistering cold, wrapped in blankets, chain smoking, hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of the lunar eclipse? ah the joy that a good friend brings to life. I miss you like crazy and so does Jig.

Dayna,
Becca and I are so said to hear the news. Sandy was great to me, she took me in when I had no other place to stay, and took care of me when I worked at the flower shop. She was a wonderful, and kind person. She is loved and missed.

The one thing I remember about Sandy above everything else was her love for Dayna. She absolutely adored her daughter and was so proud of the life that she had created for herself. Rest in Peace Sandy.

Sandy was full of love for everybody. She had a great big heart and an awesome laugh. Being out in Montana with her daughter Dayna, son-in-law Alex and grand-daughter Trinci meant the world to her. She passed away too soon, but was a happy woman.

As friends of Dayna, we really enjoyed getting to know Sandy. She was always up for adventures and loved being near her daughter & family. We watched the super bowl with her and she had so much fun dancing with the babies during the half time show!

I will forever treasure my lifelong memories with Sandy, Dayna + all of the Kopans. Many early memories stem from Crescent Beach, along with visits on Briscoe. Sandy treated me almost like a second daughter. She was always so much fun.

A loving mother and a grandmother. She lived in a beautiful town close to her daughter and granddaughter. We should all be so lucky! I will never forget the night at Audrey's pizza, seeing her amongst close family and friends. She was so happy!

Trinci’s other grandmother will be sooooo missed.  I’ve said it many times that ‘Sandy had the biggest heart,’ her love for family, friends and animals could not be rivaled.  In the short 8 years we knew each other we had so many good times, Thanksgivings, Christmas’, Trinci’s Birth-Day, skiing, floating and much, much more.  Sandy, you were a wonderful mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law and you made our family complete. I know you will be watching over our  children and family…

It has been a long while in person but not by text or phone her last words to me are on my face book as my Ma'her auntie Janet suffers so badly in the hospital my cuzn was so sweet about comforting the hurt inside from so far yet when talked felt like she was right here w/me calming me down... she has always accepted me loved me from no matter how far the distance from New York, Montana or where ever she or I were she gave some kind of call or info, to check in on us over here...her caring lovable spirit embraced me always when we talked she was strong minded good spirited happy and one of my favs...I know her most truest love of life was her daughter Dayna, loyalty to her Ma Ida Kopan, and recently her proudest lil bundle of joy her grandbaby girl Trinci Blue! I know Sandy was always busy, a hard worker, loved life full of life and made lasting impressions on everyone that met her she was so beautiful inside and out ... a true gem the Lord has called home that this world could never meet another one like this beautiful cuzn of mine...I luv U so much girl hugs to Lisa and Uncle Norm and the rest of the tribe we lost in our family  see yah when I get there In Jesus Love always R.I.P Sandy! I will miss your calls and text and Loving talks!
