I met Ms, Sarah in May of 2010. I took her as my missionary partner. After loosing my mother to cancer, not knowing at this time I would loose another mother figure to the same awful disease, meeting Ms Sarah gave me something to do after my mom died. We would try and meet atleast once a month. We would go to hair dresser,Captain D.s for lunch, I would have to run her by the goodwill store, where we found some good deals sometimes. Our next stop would be Fred's. She thought they had everything she needed and most of the time they did. (She already had everything she needed). Oh let's not forget her doctors appointments that she faithful kept.We would do these events pretty often. In October of last year 2011 she fell one day in the house. After this fall she began to tell me that she hurt all the time on her right side. She went to visit the doctor about this fall. They would run x-rays to see what was going on but never could figure it out. Our last shoppng adventure was January 16th,2012, we went to Belk's in Carrollton where she help me pick out two nice pair of pants and pair of boots. After that we went to Fred's she purchased her couple of Bras and panties. We then stopped by Captains D's, got a bite to eat and headed back home not knowing this would be my last time out with my friend.(tears in my eyes). We talked atleast twice a week on the phone. We both always had something to make each other laugh about. Well on Feburary 6th 2012 I called her house and got no answer. She told me if I ever call and did not get her, to call the hospital and that is what I did. Sure enough she was there.I went to visit her the following day and she seem to be doing just fine.A week later My husband went to meet her but it was a little to late. She had went into sleep mode and was not aware that anyone was there. Tuesday of the next week I went in to see her. She was awake but in much pain. They had just brought her dinner, I asked her nurse could she eat and she said if you can get her to. I open her tray to find fish being served. Ms Sarah I said guess what they brought you fish, would you like some? of course her response was yes,by nodding her head. She took about three small bites and about two small bites of sweet peas and sipped tea from her sponge. I told her I loved her and she nodded back.I knew what she meant, I went to visit her again on Friday Feb.24th . She was in lot of pain.Just as she had assured me that she would not suffer long I assured her the same thing. On Monday Feb. 27th my friend flew away. I will always remember her laughter, her smile, and most of all our friendship. To the family, you will never get over it,but it will get better with time. When you are having a hard day think on the laughter, the good food and the good times and I promise with Jesus, he will see you through it. May God Bless you all and to my good friend Ms. Sarah Rest In Peace.
