Her Life
April 11, 2013

Sarah Roton Collins, of West Point, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at her residence.  She was born Thursday, September 6, 1917, in Aiken County, South Carolina.  Sarah was married to the late Horace Collins of West Point, Georgia, and to this union three children were born. Sarah’s husband proudly served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and at that time Sarah was an employee of the Federal Reserve Bank in Jacksonville, Florida.  After the war Sarah became a devoted housewife and Mother. Sarah was a member of the Garden Club and the West Point Women’s Club.  She attended Spring Road Christian Church in Lanett, Alabama.

Sarah expressed her hope in Jesus Christ at an early age.  She served God in many ways such as teaching a Sunday school class of adult women and visiting and ministering God’s Word to the elderly in nursing homes.  Her life has been an example of a Godly woman others can follow.

Loving memories will forever lie in the hearts of her children:  Theresa Dale Collins of West Point, Georgia, Brenda Ann Collins and spouse William Carter of Luthersville, Georgia, Anthony Lee Collins and spouse Ellen Collins of Lanett, Alabama; her grandchildren, Terri Spanheimer, Anthony Birdsong, Sarah Shoemaker, Lee, Lanier and Smith Collins; her great grandchildren, Devin Shoemaker, Caroline, Will and Eli Birdsong.  Sarah was predeceased by a sister Dale Bonds and a brother John H. Smith.
