His Life

A Time For Us

March 21, 2017

A time for us, some day there'll be
When chains are torn by courage born of a love that's free
A time when dreams so long denied can flourish
As we unveil the love we now must hide

A time for us, at last to see
A life worthwhile for you and me

And with our love, through tears and thorns
We will endure as we pass surely through every storm
A time for us, some day there'll be a new world
A world of shining hope for you and me

For you and me

And with our love, through tears and thorns
We will endure as we pass surely through every storm
A time for us, some day there'll be a new world
A world of shining hope for you and me

His dreams were:

To have a succesful car company. Almost done.

To travel to Singapore. Unfulfilled..

To build a small stone house with parking place. Unfulfilled..

To have children. Unfulfilled..

To live happy with his family.............

Travel

August 3, 2014

His first trip was in Greece when he was 19 years old (Athens, Thessaloniki and Holy Mountain Athos).

As a couple we traveled in Greece (Halkidiki, Athens, Nafplion), Greek Islands (Andros, Tinos, Mykonos), Austria (Vienna), Spain (Mallorca), United Kingdom (London), Italy (Rome).

Talents

August 3, 2014

He had a very special talent in 'Zeibekiko' Dance. Due to his great body balance, he could dance on one kneeling foot. It was a 'round' figure that all of us tried to copy, without any success.

On his last trip to Holy Mountain Athos, he made a stop in Thessaloniki and went to watch his favourite greek singer "Natasa Theodoridou", who, as he told me, stoped singing and  was admiring him just with clapping hands, when she saw him dancing with the way he used..

Hobbies

August 3, 2014

He loved cars. That's why he registered his own car company.

He also loved motorcycle ascent. Every Sunday morning (6am), he used to meet up with other riders and were going to mountains.

We had arguements about his motorcycle Benelli. I found out that he own it, when I saw him riding it, one year after he bought it. That day we had a fight, and he was begging me not to tell his father about it, as he was very contrary.

Savvas said once: "If i have a choice for my death, I want to be my motorcycle". He could die for his motorcycle. He did it.

Favourites

August 3, 2014

He had obsession with nice shoes. I remember our trip to Spain, when he bought 2 pairs of athletic shoes, without really need them.

He liked greek music especially 'Laika'. His favourite singer was Natasa Theodoridou, and his favourite song 'Epistrofes - Katastrofes'

His favourite movie was Pearl Harbor.

He loved the food cooked by his mother.

He loved his village and the companion of the villager's.

Personality

August 3, 2014

He was very clever and independent, that's why he used to work since schools years.

He loved his family, especially his mother, and was there for them anytime, if necessary.

He was very tidy. He wanted everything to be in order. In his room everything were rearranged with every detail (clothes, personal belongings). Even the food on plate was like this. I remember once, he was eating olives and was one next to other in a row, on the plate. He kept his important belongings in his mother house, everthing so tidy.

Savvas was a bit stubborn with his work, that's why he succeed to make his own car company almost all by him self.  But generally in his personal life, he was giving 'space' to the people he loved. So did I with him.

He loved children, that's why he baptized two boys and was planning to have his own boy, giving his father name.

He didn't care about money, just to live with dignity. There were a lot of people he was helping without letting anyone know.

Savvas was giving special attention to his outwork appearance. He was dressed properly according to the occasion, his car was never dirty, always wearing a watch, sunglasses in morning and usually a belt. A real gentleman.

Last days

August 3, 2014

At first days of May, he traveled with friends and his father at the Holy Mountain Athos as they used to do every year. Before that, they had a stop in Thessaloniki, when they visited his favorite singer at the club she was working.

He came back in Cyprus approximately at 10 of May. The next day at lunch time, he contacted a monk from the Holy Mountain. He was in the kitchen talking with the monk in cell phone. I was studying at the living room. The monk told Savvas that we have to make a baby by the end of the year. Savvas turned phone in loudspeaker and he said "Brother, my wife is listening to you now". The monk said "Kyriaki, I said to Savvas that you have to make a baby by the end of the year". We promised yes and Savvas said "We will call you when we have the good news".

On Friday, 18 of May, was Savvas 28th birthday. We went to celebrate in a tavern with his friends, my mother, sister and sister in law. After tavern, I let him go out with his friends. He came home at dawn, drunk. That night we slept hugged at the couch. I could risk leave him alone on the bed. It was dangerous on his situation.

From next day and then, he became anxious. I asked him and he said he had work problems. On Wednesday he confessed me that he has chest pain and he didn’t know why. I told him to take him to the doctor and he said that it was from stress.

On Thursday after his work, he came home very anxious. He needed some financial help with the cars and that day, he requested it from relatives, but they couldn’t help him. He was very sad. He hugged me and he said "Do you love me?". I answered "More than anything". It was very strange. When we went to sleep, he couldn’t fall asleep.  He was holding me, and our dog so tight, calling us 'his women'. I switched off the lights.

Friday, May 25. We woke up as usual at 6:30. We had a shower. At 7:30 he kissed me goodbye and I left for work.

Two hours later, one of his friends called at the office asking for my uncle. Few minutes after, my uncle called me and he told me to go urgently at the hospital because Savvas had an accident with a motorbike.

Six hours surgery. 21 litres of blood. I was outside and I couldnt help him. Lost. I prayed. We had friends in Church. I sent messages, hoping that dosens of prayers could sent a message to God, to make a miracle and give mercy to us, who loved him. The surgery ended. The doctors called me to see him at the emergency room. They said "you have to say goodbye". Fainted. I cried as I didn’t cry my whole life. I was begging him to wake up. "We have a promise to keep.." He didn’t hear me. 17:00.. He left me, his mom, dad, sister, our Annie, and this cruel world..
