Her Life

A Better Place

February 14, 2012

A couple years ago I was thinking about my daughter however there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her. I was reading some old condolences and I came across this: A Better Place

She’s in a better place right now than she’s ever been before; all pain is gone;  she’s now at rest; nothing troubles her anymore.
It’s we who feel the burden of our sadness and our grief;. We have to cry, to mourn our loss, before we get relief.

We know we’ll reconnect with her at the end of each life’s road; We’ll see her cherished face again when we release our earthly load.

Extraordinary Young Lady

I was blessed to have my daughter for 26 years; she truly was a beautiful person. Schanae was diagnose with Systemic lupus erythematosus (also called lupus or SLE) at the young age of 14. This is a disease where the  immune system attacks and injures your body's joints, organs and tissues. Although you can live for many years with the disease, there is no room for stress emotional or physical. Although, she passed at an early age, Schanae accomplished in her young life specific goals that it takes most of us a lifetime to do; those goals were: graduate from high school, college, get married, become a mother, purchase a home, and automobiles, she did all of this in her short life of being an adult.

Being diagnose with SLE, she was unable to be an ordinary teenager, she couldn't do crazy fun things like hang out on the beach in the summer time because the sun drained her body and made her exhausted. So at a very early age she committed herself to God.  Schanae had faith so strong that the bible verse from Isaiah 54:17--No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn; was a shield around her. Schanae was indeed one of God's servants that I was only allow to borrow. She suffered from her disease for 12 years and remarkably she always was sick on Sunday when she was getting dressed for Church, however I did not know then that God was preparing a place for her to come home because she also passed on Sunday, April 24, 2005, getting ready for Church. Schanae was a woman of extreme courage, strength, she saw the good in everybody, and love everybody; she was beautiful inside, outside, and had a wall of admiration built around her from many.

My perfect angel, you  took a large part of us with you when you went to follow  your angels who guided you to that precious place. Continue to look down on us with pride because you are now truly our angel of grace. As you rest in your new heavenly home, rest in peace for which you truly deserve. However you will be truly missed and remembered for how special you were, your love and honor in which we all will preserve. We love you always and forever and may god be with  you.
