His Life
December 12, 2014

Sen Wong was born on November 1, 1929 in Canton, China. At the age of 5 his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Parma, Idaho. During high school while attending Roswell Baptist Church, he realized he needed Jesus Christ—not church or religion. It became clear to him that Christ, God’s Son, died on the cross for his sins, was buried, and on the third day arose from the dead, victorious over sin and death. At that time, he prayed and told God he believed this and accepted Christ as his personal Savior.

While attending Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon God burdened Sen’s heart to work among the American-born Chinese. After graduating, marrying June, and being ordained as a pastor, God led them to the Greater Bay Area. This was the beginning of Chinese Bible Mission.

Sen’s passion was to share the good news of Jesus Christ so he reached out to the children and young people in the neighborhood and from there started his first church. For over five decades, he started other churches and as they grew, saw the need to train leaders and pastors within them. He started CBM’s auxiliary ministries to encourage and edify the believers through Bible teaching, fellowship and outreach. They were California Bible College, week-long summer camps, and literature evangelism (Chinese New Year tracts).
