I will miss your huge strong hugs and your funny jokes and expressions.
I love you very much. I know that you are missing from us always and everywhere. I feel there is an empty spot where you belong in my life the other one was dad. I know you are both together now. xoxoxox
Always your Sister,
Cathy

Sergio Rossini was born in Bitritto, Bari, Italia on December 21, 1963 and
died unexpectedly in the Bronx, NY, USA on April 5, 2020 at age 56 from the Corona Virus

Sergio was the beloved second born son of Lucia and Domenico Rossini (deceased 2011). He was a great Brother to Giovanni Rossini and Catherine Maneira. He was the loving husband to Kang Hee “Katie” Lee Rossini, Son-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, and Uncle to his South Korean family. Sergio did not have children, but was the best Uncle any of his nephews could ask for, He loved them like sons. He was very proud of Giovanni Alexander, Joseph Domenic, Domenico Jacob, and Antonio Leonardo. Sergio was also nephew to Nicoletta and Corrado Verdesco, and 1st cousin to Laura, Sergio, and Marta.

Growing up, Sergio and his family lived in Hoboken then moved to Union City. He grew up and lived most of his life in Union City, graduated at Union Hill H.S.  Sergio worked for the Hudson County Jail in Kearny for over 20 years, most recently as a facilities commissary director, in charge of getting food, snacks, and hygiene products for inmates. He was loved and appreciated by his director and colleagues.

Sergio & Katie were married in Hoboken in 2011. They recently bought their home in the Bronx at the end of 2019. They were working on settling into their new home, when the pandemic struck and took Sergio within 6 days of falling ill.

Sergio Rossini had a huge personality, a terrific and sometimes quirky sense of humor, but most of all he was kind, generous, loyal, full of love, respectful, responsible, and very intelligent. He was a big history buff and always had much to say about anything and everything, he was an avid reader, and loved to learn new things, see the world and its natural beauty, history, and international cultures. He also loved to go camping with family and friends.
He loved to cook and experiment with food and made some pretty impressive bread. Sergio and Katie had a great relationship and enjoyed traveling to many places.

Sergio Rossini was loved dearly and will be missed tremendously by all his family, extended family, friends, and co-workers. His memory brings a smile and warmth to all our hearts.  I know you loved us too, Sergio, because you always said it and showed it in your presence, your words, your actions, and even your expression. I will forever have you in my heart and mind. God Bless you and Love you Brother.

Sergio will be put to rest at the Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington on June 25, 2020 at the New Mausoleum.

"THAT'S MY SON"

June 20, 2020

I played football in college at William Paterson in Wayne, NJ. My last year of playing came and parents and relatives were invited to come see off the seniors at our last home game.  It was a warm November day, bright and sunny, and Sergio and Katie made the trip from Jersey City to watch the game and the seniors' ceremony.

All the seniors had their names announced and walked with family to the middle of the field for pictures with coaches. I was one of the last players announced and walked with my parents, Gio and Alice, my girlfriend Emily [now wife] and my brother Alex. As we were walking down the field, and the second the applause from the crowd stopped, I heard clear as day "THAT'S MY SON!!" Who else but Sergio would yell that as loud as he could.

That is who Zio Sergio was to his nephews, more than just your uncle you saw on holidays, he made it to almost every important event he could. Reflecting on it now, Sergio was there for almost everything he could, my high school, college, and law school graduations, my wedding, senior day, all the holidays, and always made an impression. He was loved by my friends, many of whom only met him a handful of times, some only once, but that's all he needed.

He love to talk about history and teach us anything he could. He was patient, kind, and found ways to make everything fun. He was so much more than an uncle and I will miss him dearly.

Love you Zio,
Domenico Jacob
