Hello DD. I remember when I was about 7 years old you came and spent the night with us in Wichita, KS. That was in 1949 I believe. You stayed in the upstairs bedroom at our house on Main street. I remember talking with you and it was great. Then you joined the Marines and came home to see everyone and we all got together for that. Next thing I remember was grandma received a telegram saying you gave your life for your country. There is no greater honor than this. Thank you for your service DD. My mom Marilee talked about you very much. She is also gone now. You were and still are greatly loved and missed in life. It was a privilege to meet you. We will all be together again.

Today would have been my dear brother Loren's 86th birthday. He died fighting in North Korea when he was 20. He was planning on being a policeman, when he returned to civilian life but never got that chance. I give all policeman and service members a big THANK YOU

I still think of Loren as DeeDee...he proudly joins the long list of Americans who invested his all in guarding the heritage of all Americans. One-by-one throughout our history they played a part on behalf of us all. The memory stays with us...the pictures help crowd out pain of loss. We owe more thanks than we can ever pay. Thank you Loren...you tried.
