My deepest sympathy to the family of Sgt. Singletary. Mrs. Phyllis I have never met you but I feel like I know you. Sarge would talk about you and Charles Jr. All the time. The love he had for his family was truly something to admire. I can't imagine what you feel but I pray the good memories and the love yall shared will help you though. Sarge talked me out of trouble many of times and my only prayer is he knew how much love and respect he has from many. I am so sorry for your loss, may God give you peace and comfort through this time.

I am devastated to hear of the passing of my friend Charles Singletary, a good man. I met Charles many years ago when I was a police officer and after my retirement when I came to Birmingham to train Police officers. We hit it off immediately and shared a lot in common. He would always make sure I was taken care of, and on a few occasions went out with him to view areas I was training about to get a feel for the affected communities. My sincere condolences to the Singletary family. May my friend rest in peace.

My condolences to the Singletary family during this major loss. My sincerest prayers for peace and understanding during this difficult time. Charles was more than a brother in law to me, he was my brother. I've known him almost as long as I've known my sister Phyllis. They've been married most of my life. He was always cheerful, concerned, caring and funny. He had a way of making you smile. He was encouraging as well as an example of what a honest, hardworking, husband and father should look like. I always admired how he took care of my sister and nephew. To know him, was to love him, I'm so sure he left an impression with everyone he met. Although this is a hard pill to swallow, I know he's in a much better place, even if we think it's no better place than here with us. Big Charles will surely be missed, but never forgotten, he left a huge imprint in this world. Rest on my brother, your work here is done, and it was done well. Love your little sister, Marie

To My dear friend Phyllis and Charles Jr. words cannot express how much we will miss Charlie. Such a fun loving and giving person. I thought about how blessed we were to fellowship together, sing on the same choir and break bread together as family. I will always cherish the fact that you two were there to celebrate one of my most important milestones and how you both gave of your selves without a second thought. I will miss how he could make you laugh about old times at the drop of a hat. Hold on God's got you and know that he was loved by all !! Love Ms. Pamela & Gabrielle Davis
