Shari Shrewsberry Martin, passed from this life on September 16, 2020 at the Hospice of the Panhandle, Kearneysville, WV after fighting a two year battle with histiocytic sarcoma.
She was born on July 8, 1965 in Olney, MD. She is survived by her father, James "Jim" Shrewsberry, Harpers Ferry, WV, sisters, Aleta Bishop Cecil and husband, Larry, and Alesia Bishop, and her boyfriend, Troy Hollis of Inwood, WV.
She was preceded in death by brother, Jeffrey Shrewsberry and her mother, Betty Shrewsberry.
Shari graduated from Jefferson High School, Shenandoah Junction, WV in 1984. She played an active part in the reunion committee since graduation. She graduated from Purdue University Global with a paralegal degree in 2012.
Shari attended Victory Free Will Baptist Church, Halltown, WV. With a deep faith and conviction to her Lord Jesus Christ, she honored Him with her singing talent, harpsichord and service in the Awanas to name a few.
Shari loved acting and the theater. Her favorite play was Wicked. She acted in several local plays at the Old Opera House and the Apollo Theater from 2012 to 2014.
Shari held various jobs throughout her life. Early in her career she was an EMT with the Harpers Ferry Fire Department. She worked at American Woodmark in Berryville, VA as a utility technician until it closed. Her next employment was for PF Associates in Winchester, VA as an event planner. Her latest employer was Lowers Risk Group, Purcellville, VA as a criminal researcher.
Shari had a very giving spirit. She loved to bake cakes and decorate them for friends. She even did wedding cakes. She started a ministry called Second Chance Friends, where she would refurish used dolls and give them to children in need.
She touched many lives throughout her 55 years. Her humor, her kindness and her "tell it like it is" nature endeared many people to her.
Shari will be laid to rest in Edge Hill Cemetary, Charles Town, WV.
