ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Sharon Kay Delaney, 60 years old, having been born on November 18, 1958, and having passed away on March 13, 2019. We will remember her with a smile forever.  Sharon was raised in Grass Valley, but has spent most of her adult life in Sacramento.  She is survived by her decades-long companion, Larry Munyer of Sacramento, her twin brother Dan Delaney of Grass Valley, and her sisters, Barbara Delaney of La Quinta and Jeanie Johnson (Paul) of Nevada City, along with her nephew Paul Johnson (Danielle) of Grass Valley and her niece Danielle Smith (Chris) of Gilroy.  She will be especially missed by her many, many Sacramento friends, including Lori Newberry, Diane Linthicum and Tom Klinger, but most of all by her girls, Pompom and Minnie, and her numerous other pets.  She is out of pain now and the world won't be the same without her.  Rest in peace Sharon, you left your indelible imprint on this world.

How do you describe Sharon? Brash, bold, loud, bossy, funny (oh so funny) and always with a great story to tell?  She was all of these things, but most of all I will remember Sharon as having a HEART OF GOLD. She didn't even have to know you to hold out a helping hand and usually a lot more.
We spent a lot of time together, she and I, mostly doing the mundane . . . washing our cars, sharing a meal, chasing hawks, playing bingo, of course the casino, watching a movie, going over ballot issues and candidates, gossiping (never) and generally just solving life's problems. So many normal, silly, stupid, little things. What am I supposed to do now Sharon? Who do I go to for answers to my silly questions or to reprimand me when I have just been plain old dumb. I miss my friend -- the laughter and the heart-to-hearts.
It all happened so fast. Still can't really believe it. I will miss you for a long, long, time, and you will be in my heart forever. I am glad you are not in pain anymore. You knew you were leaving … you never said it, but you knew, and you took the time to say goodbye to the many, many people who mattered to you. And I hope you know how many people you mattered to. God bless you my friend. Keep the angels laughing 'til we meet again.
