This memorial website was created in memory of a cherished friend, Sharon Rushton, who died much too soon at 59 years old after a lengthy illness.

Sharon was very proud of the fact that she was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She had two sisters she loved very much, Ann and Liz.  She enjoyed being an auntie to their children.  For her entire life, Sharon was a devoted daughter to her parents.  When they could no longer take care of themselves, she gave up her job to be their caregiver on a full time basis.  While she never complained, it was clear that to take care of them was extremely physically and emotionally demanding.  There can be no doubt that this strain took a great toll on her health.

Sharon had a friendly, kind disposition and never said a critical word to me, a rare quality in a friend.  We leaned on one another, we laughed a lot (she had a wicked sense of humour).  In addition to being very pretty and having a smashing figure, she was multi-talented.  She was an outstanding gourmet cook, had a great singing voice and could draw and paint.  Sharon was also an animal lover; no one loved their dog more than she did.

For those of us who were fortunate enough to have known her, Sharon will remain in our hearts forever.
