To the Garrand Family: I was deeply saddened and shocked to read of Sharri's passing in the Post-Star. The second I saw her beautiful smile, I knew it was she.I met Sharri and her family in 2010 when I had the privilege to list their home for sale on Grant Avenue. Although I never secured the sale, Sharri was always very gracious & patient with me as a new sales agent. May our loving God embrace y'all and draw you close during this sad time. Sharri was beautiful inside and out. Cathy Kimmerly Crossville, TN

Cousin Sharron's Family and Friends: Always had fun visiting Aunt Marge, Uncle Bob and "the girls" when we were (much) younger, especially when the power was out in Hudson Falls. I'd often stop at the bank to say hi while in town, though our later paths didn't cross nearly often enough. Always, ALL WAYS a beautiful smile and a huge hug. Our sincerest sympathies and thoughts are with you all... Kevin and Theresa

Hugs! I have no words to describe my sorrow. Wonderful, funny memories of dancing in the living room, laughter, and bowling. Sharri had a zest for life! She is with Laurie and there is comfort there. Love to you all.

The Garrand Family,
We were saddened to hear the news that your wife, Mom and Grandmother has passed. She was a lovely women who was always so pleasant to be around. Debbie, I first met your Mom and Dad while working at the bank in the 70’s. So glad our friendship continued over the years. Of course, working with you at the cement company aided that relationship.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. Our thoughts and prayer are with you during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Donna/Mike Graham

Debbie- I met your mom only briefly, but she made a lasting impression with her wit and smile. One of the deepest heart tugs of my life was losing my Mom, but time has softened the blow, and left me with wonderful memories. I wish you, Ciara, Sam and your family my very deepest condolences. Darcy

Her Life

Sharron Ann Garrand

February 12, 2019

Sharron (“Sharri”) Ann Garrand passed away peacefully at home on February 8th at 8:35am at the age of 76, surrounded by her family.

Sharri is predeceased by her parents Robert and Marjorie Brayman, and has joined her daughter, Laurie Lynn Garrand, in heaven.

Sharri is survived by her loving husband Richard Garrand Sr of 57 years. They were married in Hudson Falls, NY on September 10th, 1961.

Sharri is lovingly remembered by her son Richard Garrand Jr., of Queensbury, her daughter and fiancé Debbie Garrand Tabor and Sam Luciano of Queensbury, her granddaughters Ciara Tabor and Kiersten Garrand of Queensbury, Ciara’s companion, Perry West, her sisters Sandra McIntosh of Queensbury and Judith Kenny of South Glens Falls, her brother Donald Brayman of Wilton, and number of nieces and nephews.

Sharri was born in Hudson Falls, New York in 1942. She graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1960. She earned a post graduate degree in business. She worked at Glens Falls National Bank from 1974 to 1997, when she retired. She also worked, post retirement, at Fitzgerald, Morris, Baker, and Firth law firm from 1997 until 2007.

Shari was a member of the St. Mary’s and Glens Falls Hospital’s Eucharistic Ministry. She also was a member of the Sodality of St. Ann’s for over 40 years, where she served as an officer during that tenor.

Sharri was a loving wife and mother with an appetite for fun. She enjoyed bowling, casinos, shopping, holidays, family get togethers, butterflies, summer BBQs, and laughter. Sharri had a passion for dancing, especially disco, that would have made John Travolta jealous.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Robert Evans, Dr. Richard Jackson, Dr..William John Byrne, Dr. William Tedesco, and Mary E., RN, from the Warren County nursing staff for providing outstanding and compassionate care.
