His Life

His life

March 7, 2015

Born 8/25/89 at 6:02pm, weighing 8 lbs 1 oz, 20 in long.  He was such a good baby.  Growing up as a young one he was easy. He watched everything his siblings did. He'd giggled and copied what they did.  He adored them. At 2 we couldn't figure out why he wasn't talking like a normal 2 yr old.  Realized with all the ear infections for a year, that is why.  He got tubes put in, adnoids and tonsils removed, and that did the trick.  He strugged in school, didn't like his kindergarten teacher, so he refused to do anything.  Finally they switched his teachers, and he was better. Then in 1st grade they said he was ADD, so I took him to a pyschologist for an eval.  They put him on meds, which I regret to this day. But it really did help him focus better in school.  So it was a catch 22.   This went on for years.  Many calls from teachers.  He put me through alot. Then at 13-14 he got diagnosed with a auto-immune disease, which affected his liver.  No known cause.  The only thing I can think of was that a year prior to he got deathly sick for a month with a viral illness, lost 13 lbs in a month, in and out of the hospital for dehydration, missed alot of school in between.  Could have caused it. He battled the disease for almost 10 years.  Prednisone made him swell, so he got the nickname "Cheeks"...which he loved. He was in and out of the hosp, treatments, many meds, etc.  But with all that, he was such a character, his laugh was contagious.  I always called him a class clown.  He loved his family, loved it when he was feeling good, and could enjoy life.  Was so happy when his neice Brielle was born, and just cherished her like she was his own. To see them together was priceless.  I think he watches down on her to this day. Anyway, the day he left this earth peacefully, a part of my soul left with him.  But I know he is in heaven with all my other loved ones.  We will be together again one day Shawn... love Mom
