His Life

Pastor Shawn Michael Jones, Sr. was born on March 12th, in Columbus, OH. He was the only son of the late Christopher Edgar Jones and Sarah Diane Jones. He was called from his passion to eternal reward on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Pensacola, FL surrounded by the love of his assignment and his band of brothers. As a child, others quickly identified him as natural born leader. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined First Baptist Church and brought a host of family with him to be baptized.

Shawn began to be about his Father’s business at the young age of 16 years old. He was a passion driven, spirit filled preacher and singer. It was during this time that he also started his group. Shawn Jones and The Believers began to tour locally, regional, and nationally as they inspired others while sharing the gospel.


Shawn met and married the love of his life, Dominica Milan Hunter on June 2, 2002. and through this union, three beautiful children were born. His legacy will continue on through his wife, children, mother, family, friends, fans and The Believers. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Dominica M. Jones, his three children; Dakiyah I. Jones, Shawn M. Jones, Jr, Alexandra L. Jones, a loving mother Sarah Diane Jones, aunts Willie D. Lyles (Columbus, OH), Mary Seals (Rockford, AL), Thelma Hill (Rockford, AL), Cynthia Lee (Rockford AL), a special uncle and aunt Donald and Pamela Lee (Rockford, AL), two uncles Sirn (Bessie) Hannon, Richard (Amanda and in) Hannon. (Columbus, OH) a special Sister Brandi (Matthew) Harris. A group of very special brothers Desmond (Tasha) Lee, Lajerrell (Bridgett) Hill, Landon (Leslie) Lee, Tay Menafield, Shaver (Patrice) Autry, Tavares (Lati ary) Harrell, Gregory (Lafawnda) Hugley, and Sebastian Carter, New King Empowerment Church Family, and a host of Great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Christopher E Jones, grandparents, Wesley (the late Evalena) Hannon, Charles (Mary) Jones, a very special aunt, Audrey Nuil Jackson.

Pastor Shawn Michael Jones, Sr. has left a legacy that will carry on throughout time. Men have a set time, but Legends never die.
