Service will be held at W.E. Lusain Funeral Home and Crematory (2060 Germantown Street/Dayton) on April 22, 2022. The visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Masks are required for entry.

Shawn was born to Shirley Pope and the late Lawrence Stewart Sr. on March 31, 1974. He was a graduate from Patterson High School class of 1992. Shawn enlisted in the Navy serving for 7 years, and then attending Sinclair Community College where he received his associates degree in social work. He was a longtime faithful member of Mount Olivet C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of pastor Ozell Northern and Pastor Terry Holt.
Shawn was affectionately known as “Stew” to his family and friends and he will be remembered for his genuinely caring personality, his great sense of humor, a smile that could light up a room, and his love for cooking (especially for others).
He was always available to lend a helping hand in the kitchen whether it was a family reunion or his church family, he cooked with love and you could taste it. Shawn was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Stewart Sr. and his sister Tina Pope.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Shirley Pope, brothers Bishop Anthoney Taylor and Lawrence Stewart Jr., sister Kyla Hughes, nephews Jamar King and JaeVonn King, special Friend and sister Jocelyn Hargrave, special sister Jamie Pope, special cousin Lynn Bailey, special nieces Ja’Brina and Amira Hargrave, and a host of other family and friends.
