Shaylin was born on Feb.12,1980 at Iberia General Hospital in New Iberia, Louisiana. She was a 5 generation baby, as her great great grandparents was still living when she was born. She enjoyed her family and had many friends at her church and school. At the age of 7, she moved with her family to Ft. Benning, Georgia. She loved to play in the snow in the winter months of living out in the country. Saddly at the age of 9, her parents split and divorced. She then moved to Aransas Pass, Texas with her mother and 2 brothers, James II and Bryson. Through out her childhood, she had many friends. At the age of 17, she decided to live life her way. She had her first child, Michael in 1999. She  had a lot of struggles, but wanted what was best for her child. In 2001, she had her second child, Evan. Even tho her husband wanted to continue living the lifestyle he was living, Shaylin  felt she needed to do what was best for her children. She left the lifestyle her husband was living and lived alone working and making sure her children had everything they needed. It was okay if she did without, just as long as her children had food, home, and clothes. In 2005, She joined the Army, thinking she was going to give her children a better life. She also wanted to do her part in giving back to this country and keeping it free. Saddly, in 2006, she was injuried. She had to take some strong medication for her injuries, and the medication damaged her internal organs causing her to need a liver transplant. She never recovered and passed from this life on January 3,2009. Before she passed away, she spoke to each of her children about the life that she wanted them to have. Even in death, she wanted what was best for her children.
