Well Sherm, it's been a couple of years already since you left us. Things have been going OK. Marilyn is doing well....some good days and some not so good days. It's real tough for her around your birthday. I'm trying to keep her occupied with positive things. She's quite happy the grand kids have returned to Calif. Amanda (daughter) and family is doing well. Marilyn & I have the pleasure of seeing your mom and LaJuanda at church almost every Sunday. They both are doing well. Your mom is a strong cookie. Hope I grow up to be just like her! Sherm, you are still terribly missed by all your family and friends. We'll see you again.

Sherman was a childhood friend and a member of Redlands High School graduating class of 1968. I visited him once in San Diego many many years ago (when he worked for the lottery) and wish I had spent more time with him. Sherman was a wonderful person with a great smile and I was so sad to hear of his passing. Thank you Sherman for being in my life for such a brief time.

Sherman came into our lives and quickly left.He had moved our souls to dance. He awaken us to new understandings with the passing whisper of his wisdom and care. Sherman was first our neighbor and less than no time he became our friend. This tragedy wasn't suppose to happen to Sherman, it is so hard to come to terms with. He will always live in our hearts.

Well it's been a long rough year.
The phone started ringing early this morning with family and friends checking in on us as they have done all year. We are so thankful and appreciate all of you.
I can see and feel how the family is getting stronger just in how we smile and laugh when we're sharing our memories. I know when I start to feel sad and get teary eyed Sherm gets right in my ear and says, "really Juan" and then we laugh just like we always did.
Many times I have been thinking about a situation that we had talked about and he'll get in my face and tell me to stick to the plan. I do and it happens the way he said it would..
My big brother is still looking out for me.

We girls had a wonderful time at LaJuanda's celebrating your birthday. The food was outstanding. We miss you so much in the physical but you are so very close in our hearts and thoughts. All things considered, Marilyn continues to hang-in there. She's missing you terribly though. I've been trying to keep her occupied.
