OBITUARY OF SHEYENNE ALDRIDGE
Sheyenne “Shy” Christian Aldridge, age 15 of Portland, passed away Friday July 8, 2016. Funeral Service will be Tuesday July 12th at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN with Pastor Chris Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Monday July 11th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday July 12th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Shy was born September 18, 2000, in Nashville. She is survived by mother, Jamie Petty (Nathan Lea) of Portland; father, Christopher Aldridge of Ashland City; grandparents, David Petty of Gallatin, Brenda Allen of Nashville, and Jean Aldridge of Ashland City; great-grand mother, Frances Allen of Nashville; siblings , Sierra Aldridge of Portland, Ashley Bishop of Westmoreland, Callie Aldridge if Florida, Dylan Aldridge of Florida, and Chris Aldridge of Cottontown; and nieces and nephews, Adaleigh McCreary, Briella Bradley, and Clayton Bradley.

As I was cleaning out the other day, I found my box of middle school teaching stuff. I pulled out a yearbook and sat on the floor literally tearing up as I read sweet, funny, a few awkward, and very thoughtful messages from former students. Your kind message was in that yearbook, from sixth grade! Such beautiful memories of working with you and your friends in math class. I’m a better person after having you in class, seeing your smile through your eyes, watching you giggle with friends, and seeing you handle situations that would arise with such grace. I will always keep your family and friends in my heart and my prayers. Thank you for being such a special part of my teaching career.

So my story is that when Sheyenne was in the hospital (on one of her many stays) that while we were visiting she said”mamabear I wish you would come have lunch at my school with me one day because you are so cool” and I was like “I know,right!” How many ( any of you that know me knows I do not do that “G”word) have had your teenager invite you to ther school to have lunch with them and their friends? What an honor and how sad it never happened even though we had talked about a date that she never got to see

Hey Sheyenne... this is a bittersweet day for everyone as we have come upon the day that marks one year since you went home to be with Jesus and it still does not seem real. I noticed that you have had over 4000 views and that sure is a testimony to the way you lead your life here on earth. We wish you were here but we understand how merciful God was to release you from all of your pain and for that we understand and thank Him for loving you that much to bring you home to be forever free and happy. We will see you again and that is God's promise to us for comfort.

Such a beautiful young lady with a heart full of laughter and a contagious smile. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know her so many years ago in sixth grade. As her math teacher, I saw her light up the classroom with her beautiful smile! I'm praying for your sweet family and friends. God works in such mysterious ways but His work is so good! You are such a beautiful young lady, inside and out, God knew this world was growing to ugly for you and took you to his wonderful world that he promised you. You was taken too soon, but I am so very thankful to know that you believed in God and you have went to a better place. So many young people today are to naïve to know the truth. I can remember as kids Sheyenne, Sierra, Ashley and I would spend many days playing together. There are plenty of pictures of us all in the living room with smiles on our faces. My most recent memory was shopping for my bridesmaids dresses. Jamie, Jodye, Sheyenne and a couple others went. Jodye and Sheyenne had the whole store laughing when Jodye struggled go get into her spanks and Sheyenne went in to help. All we could hear outside was the constant laughing and comments of I don't think this is right. About 10 minutes later Jodye and Sheyenne walked out, all of us staring and the two of them just laughing so hard they were almost crying.
I want to say to my sister, I love you Jamie and to see you hurt truly breaks my heart. As a sister, I wish there was more I could do. You have a strong faith and you have that as well as your family to lean on in these times. Keep your sight on God and He will guide you. I love you Jamie.

As a child she was a joy to be around she was a special little girl I'll never forget her and the poem she wrote for Shawn beautiful. She had such a beautiful spirit and seemed to be a wonderful sister. I am so glad I was able to share the love of Jesus with her and Sierra at church camp.She will always be loved and will be definitely missed.

Sheyenne,you were such amazing person and such a gift to me Sierra mom and so many other people,you had such a huge heart and were always full of laughter and tons of jokes I just can't believe we lost you so soon,you were one of a kind and I'll always have you in my heart ALWAYS! Growing up I was always the one to protect my younger siblings and to have you being the one protecting Sierra and me kills me inside! I remember the last time all us girls got together and spent the night at Jamie's house us girls got together and sang some crazy random songs. And at gatlinburg when we all climbed a tall mountain.
