Shirley was my best friend when we were young. I used to ride the bus home with her to Paradise and we'd have sleepovers. She hated having curly hair and we used to iron it on the ironing board to straighten it! Her Mom always made Molasses Sugar Cookies for us and to this day, I bake them every fall and in to Christmas! They are still everyone's favorite!
Her Dad had old insulators in the sun so they'd turn colors.
I visited the cemetery today to pay my respects and left sunflowers there. 
It is past due, but my condolences to her family.
Loved that girl with my whole heart...
