Shirley was a one of a kind person, to know her was to love her.... I had the privilege of meeting and working with her at Chase and we became friends.... She was the most genuine people you will ever meet. No matter how bad your day was hang with her for a few minutes and she'd have you laughing.... The world needs more people like her. She will be missed

Miss Shirley has been a part of my family for as long as I can remember. She was ALWAYS so sweet and kind to us. Always had kind and encouraging words. It feels like just yesterday that I saw you and you were wiping away my tears and making sure I knew that my grandma loved me. You couldn't stop telling me how much you loved our family and how much you loved your family. How proud you were of your great grand sons. How amazing Amanda is as a mother. How John is the best son. I remember thinking how lucky we are to have such a unique, beautiful, loving soul in our lives. How many can truly say they have experienced unconditional love? You were the definition of unconditional love. Miss Shirley you will be missed. My heart is so heavy writing this. I pray that you are resting in heaven with the lord. Please say hi to my wela and welo for me. I know you probably have them laughing up a storm up there. Forever grateful to have known you. R.I.H❤️

I worked with Shirley back then it was first USA bank or First Card. She always could turn a bad day into a good day with her smile. She would come by my desk and I remembered getting off the phone which was a bad call. She asked me what happened and she kind of laugh and said it takes all kind of calls but remember they can't see you but only hear your voice. She came back with a mirror and said when you get another bad call look in the mirror and start smiling and see what happens. It worked wonders. Her son John also work at the bank and sat across from me.I didn't know or realized he was her son they had a blast fooling me for the longest time. Then she told me she was his mom.Can you imagine how big I felt we all had a good laugh.Shirley and John were so much fun to work with at the bank.As things change Shirley always came by to say hi with her smile and she taught me to smile.I know she is smiling down to all of us because Shirley had to a heart of gold.God bless you Shirley and my prayers go out to John and Amanda and your babies and your whole family La Donna Conley Duckett.

I had the glorious pleasure of knowing Shirley through my husband, they were cousins that grew up together while living in Chicago. Before I met Shirley my husband would tell me about the crazy fun things they did and saw growing up back in the 60s. When I finally met her I was welcomed with warm loving arms, kind words, and a smile and laughter that genuine, infectious and pure. Birthday parties, family gatherings, and holidays were always delightful you with never left with an empty stomach or left out endless love from Shirley was a warm blanket, it covered your whole soul. Shirley,  you will be truly missed, you inspired as well as empowered not only your granddaughter your great-grandkids as well. What a beautiful role model you were for many family and friends. I will always celebrate you smiling and laughing when I think of your beautiful face. This is not goodbye, I am always going to give you my best sendoff,  no sadness only tears of joyful memories until we pass again. Love you Shirley what a blessing you are.
