This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Shirley Ford, 65, born on December 31, 1945 and passed away on September 9, 2011. We will remember her forever and she will be forever in our hearts!

Shirley was known as a powerful "Prayer Warrior."

Shirley will be remembered mostly for her love of people and her faith in God. She also loved canning, growing flowers, her favorite flower were roses and she loved gardening. She loved being outdoors connecting with nature. She loved to sit out on her porch and watch the birds and butterflies, just listening to the sounds of God's beauty.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply and greatly missed!

Some of Shirley's phrases/sayings she loved to quote were:

    "Peace Be Still"

    "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff"

    "You're a Mess"

    "Stop Your Stinkin' Thinkin'

"It's All in Good Clean Fun"

     "Yepperz"

     "Your Not Right?!"

 In Loving Memory.....

God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered ‘Come With Me.’
With tearful eyes we watched you, slowly fade away,
Although we loved you dearly, we would not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Shirley was a such a kind soul and you are right I never heard her say anything negative about anyone. Toward the end I didn`t get to see Shirley so much but I miss her just the same. You know though she didn`t live and die in vain because she has raised you girls to love and serve the Lord ! You are her Legacy.

Shirley definitely was a prayer warrior! It didn't matter where she was or who it was if she felt led to pray for someone she did! She lived the true example of being a Christian. Beautiful woman inside and out! I remember when I broke my wrist and she came to my house to help me out with chores. She brought me dinner which I appreciated so much and of course she prayed with me!!! Miss u!

From: Leslie Gosh Brenda, I remember her so well from church. As a leader, teacher and a follower. She taught our Sunday school quite often. I cant nor could imagine losing her as a "mother". She was soo into you girls. You will see her again. She was an inspiration! And now, you have taken over.

from: June You had a very loving mother and precious memories with her. It gets more tolerable, but the feeling of needing your mom never leaves - you just learn to cope. Hold on to the things she taught you - like to love Jesus - because He is the only one who can fill the void. sending you love

Mrs. Ford was my neighbor when I was as a child. I always looked up to her knowing she was a Christian and the time she battled cancer (in her blood I think) and how she overcome that. I saw her as a prayer warrior as well and still remember vividly the day she come to our home and prayed for my mother who was dieing of cancer, 30 years ago. I am proud to have had her as a role model.

Shirley was a blessing to everyone around her. I didn't know her real well, but what I did know of her, I liked very much. I loved her smile, her encouragement, her kindness, and her love for her family and friends. May her memory live forever in the hearts and minds of those she touched with Christ's love.

You were the wind beneath my wings, my hero. You are greatly missed & I will forever love you mom. I wish I could just pick up the phone and call heaven to talk to you, but I know I can't. However I do know we will meet again one day in our Heavenly Home. So I light this candle in your memory and I just wanted you to know that you are thought of everyday and missed more than words can say.

Shirley was a wonderful friend & I was truly blessed to have known her. She always had a kind word & could make you feel better even if she wasn't feeling well herself. She was such an inspiration to me and made me want to be a better person. God surely gained another Angel the day He took her home. Thanks for the memories Shirley, a few of them still make me chuckle to this day:)

My mom was the best mother and friend a girl could ever have. She was a living example of Christ's Love. She always put others before she did herself. She had a wonderful spirit and a contagious smile and laugh. Everywhere she went she was like a Lighthouse, an illuminating beacon of light, displaying the true love of Jesus to the lives of many. Her light will continue to shine. :)

I'm reminiscing tonight Mom, of how much you loved your family and how you kept God in the center of everything. I miss talking to you about God and how much He has blessed us. You were always there with a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear and you always told me what God would want. I miss you and how you loved talking about God. You were the glue and bond that held our family together. God is heartbroken over how things turned out since you left us . I miss you Mom and I can't wait to see you again. I love you forever and your forever missed.

Just One More Day

May 10, 2020
If I could have just one more day and
wishes did come true,
I'd spend every glorious moment
side by side with you.
Recalling all the years we shared
and memories we made,
how grateful I would be
to have just one more day.
Where the tears I've shed are
not in vain and only fall in bliss.
So many things I'd let you know
about the days you've missed.
I wouldn't have to make pretend
you never went away.
How grateful I would be to
have just one more day.
When that day came to a close
and the sun began to set,
a million times I'd let you know
I never will forget
the heart of gold you left behind
when you entered Heaven's gate.
How grateful I would be to
have just one more day.

Merry Christmas

I found this poem and it made me think of Brenda and her Mom! I new they both loved to sing and loved Butterflies. I was excited to post it on Shirleys Memorial!  Brenda liked it so much she put it on a beautiful Picture with Butterflies. It made me feel so good to contribute to Shirleys Memorial!!

I'm so Blessed to know You Brenda! I never met your mom but I am sure you are just like her from what I have seen!!
