This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Shirley Watson, 77, born on September 3, 1934 and passed away on October 1, 2011. We will remember her forever.

So many of us have are blessed to have known, loved and cared for Shirley Watson.  She was a "social butterfly" who loved to entertain and spend time with those she cared about.  Shirley left behind a large family with a husband, 5 kids and their spouses, 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and of course Toby, her spoiled shih tzu puppy that she adored so much.  She will be greatly missed.  All of us have felt so privileged to know, and love such an amazing person.  We will love her forever!

Shirley and Bob were other Washington residents in Rock Shadows among many of our friends. My husband passed away in 2016. I remember the story Shirley told me one fall after they had flown from Washington to Arizona. They had their dogs with them on the flight. Pretty soon she saw several dogs walking down the aisle while they were in the air..she looked around and realized it was their 2 dogs. They had to scramble to catch them and get them back in their carriers. Reason I tell the story is, I am returning to Rock Shadows this year after a six year absence and taking my dog on her first airplane trip I will make sure the carrier is zipped tight.Bob and Shirley were always great at entertaining on their patio at the bottom of 10th street. They enjoyed Arizona for many years.
Fondly

Aunt Shirley was so much fun to be around. There was always laughter and some kind funny story from Uncle Bob. Between trying to keep all us kids in line when we got together. Still missing them both.

Rock Shadows is not the same this season with Shirley and Bob not here anymore. We miss seeing them at the dog run and in all the activites they belonged to. The potlucks on the patios were so much fun and they were great hosts. Our prayers are with the family and want you to know they were great friends.

We have known Shirley (Judy & I)for a long time now & as with all the special people in our lives it just doesn't seem right for their lives to end before they have the opportunity to do all they wanted. God Bless & Rest In Peace.
