Shirley Wheeler Currin, 82, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Universal Healthcare.
She was born in Granville County on July 31, 1936 to the late Harry G. Wheeler and Kathleen H. Wheeler.  Shirley was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Oxford and retired from Tuscarora.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Pittman.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Mangum of Oxford; sons, Madison Currin and wife Roslyn of Chase City, VA, Wesley Currin and wife Jane of Raleigh; sister, Mary Matthews of Oxford; brothers, Macon Wheeler of Creedmoor, William Wheeler of Timberlake; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 – 2:00 Friday, January 18, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Donna Mangum, 412 Noblin Rd. Oxford, NC.

   You are in my thoughts and prayers. Roslyn I will never forget you as my math teacher and coming to my graduation party and first church in Wilkes County N.C. i am now back in Granville County and pastoring Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
