Shirley was one of my most favorite people. I always admired her enthusiasm and joy for life. She had an infectious smile and laugh. I always wanted to be able to lead the singing like Shirley. She was an excellent Christian teacher and a lifelong friend to my parents and family. I remember a group of us spending one or more Christmases at her house. She was with my mother during her last days just a few years ago and even agreed to lead the singing at her funeral even though she said her voice was no longer “good enough”. She was always a treasure and we’ll sorely miss her. But she had many friends and family to greet her in her heavenly home. Lana Peterson Bourn

I was so happy to see all of the beautiful pictures. I will always remember the time I spent with Aunt Shirley and Uncle Chuck.

The photos tell a beautiful story of a long life well-lived. She touched many lives, was loved, and will be missed. My condolences to her family and friends, and most especially to you, my friend Lynne. Sing from above, Shirley.

My mother’s life was lived to the fullest and her voice touched many souls. I know she is leading a choir of angels now. I’d love to share her story.

Aunt Shirley

Your Mom was one of a kind and had a beautiful Soul. I aways loved when she led the music at First Christian Church. She did so with passion! I will miss visiting with her on Sunday mornings.

I know she is in a beautiful and happy place now.

God Bless!
