Sh S.K. Sareen - a devout Shiv Bhakt led a life with a very positive spirit. Eldest of the siblings on either sides of the family he lived a life full of enthusiasm and energy while taking care of his responsibilities - there were no boundaries once he got involved.

Mr. S.K. Sareen grew up with strong Indian values and respected all religions. A  strong believer in discipline - he always knew the value of time and emphasized it the most. A foodie at heart, his love for cuisines and sweets was well known. He loved to travel near mountain and rivers. A loving husband, a doting father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and ever loving brother(in-law) and uncle, his love and responsibility for ALL his family was always at the forefront. His mantra for life was to always try to do the right thing. A compassionate individual, he was often involved in charitable causes. He had a passionate outlook towards life and took everything in stride.

I'll never forget how he used to visit every week when I was a kid and how much I looked forward to those visits, coz he got me cake but more importantly, coz he always had the best stories, stories with beautiful morals. He taught me to think beyond the obvious, to question, to always stand strong. Much of what I am today, I owe to the life lessons he taught me when I was a kid. And he gave the best paternal hugs which I'll forever miss. There will forever be a fondness in those memories and I'll keep them close for tough times and fun times alike.. May his heavenly journey be as blessed as the life he shared with us.

To my Bade Papa

I have always seen you as a father figure for the entire family.

Can’t forget the Sunday lunches which you used to cook or you calling me ‘Ullu ke Pathe’ whenever we met.

Can’t even forget the devotion and faith you had in god.

I still can’t believe what has happened but as its known ‘This was god’s wish’. May he keep you with him always in the journey ahead.

Your ullu ka Patha

This is for my dearest bade papa:

There are reasons why he has always been addressed as “bade papa” by me. He was a father to me. His were the most protective and warmest of embraces I have ever got in my life.

There are few relations where you can pick the conversation again after long gaps without anyone realising it. Ours was the same. He always talked with equal amount of love , support and appreciation for my tiny steps in life everytime I would meet him.

His charm was in teaching us life lessons by very lovingly holding our ears. I never ever felt bad for being scolded by him because it was always immediately followed by soft pat on the head. An exemplary storyteller, it was always fun to listen to his anecdotes.

I will always remember him for teaching many of us the value of discipline in life. His guidance and wise words along with immense love has definitely played its part in molding me the way I am today.

I miss him dearly but will always hold his memories very dear to my heart.
You will always be loved and never forgotten. May your soul rest in peace!

I never got to talk to you much but every time I did it was always fun. You'd always leave me with a smile, especially when I visited India. I know wherever you go, you'll be there with a smile.

I remember you as the man who could laugh and create joy through thick and thin. You'd assume responsibility on realizing a gap, a no-man zone, we owe a lot to you as a father figure in our lives. I remember you taking me to submit my college applications in Delhi University, your much appreciated support that helped me build on my tiny dreams, and helped every life that I touched from there on. I remember how you helped us combat our fears and thoughtfully guided us to independence. The bridge you provided in my forming years helped turn me into an strong woman. I remember how you would come to join in on Diwali pooja, and how you would be there to support us when tears rolled over in memory of papa, every now and then. Thank you Mamaji for all you did, for all the unconditional love and support, you made a difference to many lives and we were a few of those. Wishing you the very best in your journey ahead!

श्रद्धांजलि

April 27, 2021

SOULFUL TRIBUTE for MAMAJI

April 27, 2021
First, I want to pay tribute to mamaji myself. He was an exceptional and gifted human being. In good times and bad, he never lost her capacity to smile and laugh, nor to inspire others with him warmth and kindness. I admired and respected him - for his energy and commitment to others, and especially for him devotion to me in school day's.
