Transition to Glory

With a deep sense of gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the passing to glory of our husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Major General Solomon Kikiowo Omojokun on 25th December 2014 at the age of 79.  

 He was an Alumni of Igbobi College, Lagos. He obtained adouble honours BSc (London) in Mathematics/Physics from the University of Ibadan in 1961. He worked as a Science teacher in Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1963.  He taught at the Nigerian Military School Zaria and later at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

He also served as director of Nigeria Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi (1970). He was also the Director of NYSC (1975-1979), after which he was appointed Director of Army Education (1979-1984). After which he served as the Minister of Labour, Employment and Productivity. After his retirement from the army in 1985, he was appointed Nigerian Ambassador to Cuba and Mexico (1987-1991).

He since retired fully and died peacefully in his birth town, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State.
