Her love, kindness and presence with everyone who met her, was one of a kind!

I have no words and my heart is shattered in pieces! God called our beautiful daughter home! Being free of her pain I'm trying to understand, why she is gone? God must have had a special plan for you, when your shining light came to an end! Radiating a light all of your own living on in many hearts, while you're gone! Praying this nightmare of your loss, will become a memory of all you passed!
You were an inspiration and will be deeply missed!

Lars-Oliver Nikischer, his wife Chantal and daughter Leeah-Joelle! Survived and missed by her husband Azim Keshavjee and beloved daughters Taliya and Namira! Also survived by aunts, uncles and several cousins from Austria, Germany, Canada, USA, Cayman Islands,plus many friends around the world! Solveig-Angelique's life was music and she loved singing! It was natural while she was growing up with her brother Lars-Oliver following her path! After graduating from High-school, the Quebec Conservatory of Music in Montreal, she was given the opportunity of studying at the internationally renowned School, Vincent D'Indy! Solveig-Angelique completed her licentiate performance program at McGill University and moved with her family to Ottawa ON. She graduated as a Coloratura Soprano with an "Bachelor of Music" (Honours) degree from the University of Ottawa in 1988! After that she had the opportunity to follow and continue her studies in Europe! Not only was she pursuing her own music courier, but she joined her husbands Azim Keshavjee's cover band; Comfortably Numb!
       In addition of raising two lovely daughters, Solveig-Angelique had another professional life, for many years she was  "Algonquin College's Manager of procurement" ! Our hearts are heavy, but filled with immense gratitude to have had her in our lives. She was modest, kind and unselfish. She valued integrity and fairness whether in competition, a conference at work, or having a discussion in a recording studio! Solveig-Angelique will be remembered for her signature sense of kindness that was woven into so many aspects of her life, and for her admirable blend of grace and love!

A life beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered !
She was an irreplaceable woman and has left her footprint on many!

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone! "Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not her. And just  at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"... And that is dying.....

Many grieving people have ask me how I deal with this horrible loss!

A few things you should know! About Life After Loss!
Everyone will have their own experience in any way of losing a loved one losing a child, no matter how young or old, it is the most painful experience unimaginable, which would be the same for any child losing their beloved Mom. I do hope this will help my two Granddaughters Taliya and Namira in this most difficult Time!

#1 -Don't expect yourself to look or feel the way society tells you. It's a personal journey, and your path is the only one you should be on. You may or may not cry, you may or may not feel numb, and you may or may not be angry.

#2 - Don't give a crap about what anyone thinks of your process. Unless they have walked your path, it can't be understood, so forgive their ignorance and do what is right for your soul. The less you care, the happier you will be. Grief changes you, let it.

#3 - MOVE YOUR BODY. Yes, it's critical. You need to move. It's empowering, healthy movement floods your brain with much-needed chemicals, and it will bring you more strength than you can comprehend.

#4 - Take self-care and soul care time. You will need to process your loss. Journal, meditate, go to therapy, workout, ride horses, paint, draw, go to church....whatever your thing is for soul care, do it.

#5 - Don't expect it to go away. I see so many grievers who are angry that they still "feel" years after their loss. Society tells you that you just have to give it time. Instead of putting a timeline on your grief, understand you will absorb it into all that you are and that will create a new you. It never goes away, and that's okay.

#6 - Don't numb your pain. Skip the alcohol and the drugs. They mask what you really will need to process. Live it, experience it, survive it, and you will be okay.

#7 - Understand you will feel like you are doing great one day and the next day you might feel like you are doing horrible. This is part of the process.

#8 - Focus on gratitude. So damn hard after a loss but seriously so important...in fact, critical.

#9 - Get outside. The sun and fresh air are amazing tools in your toolbox towards hope.

#10 - Find a Positive community. Don't surround yourself with bitter people. Find people who understand that bad days and moments happen but overall, looking for the best in life is one of the only things leading you towards future happiness and peace.

#11- Don't be a Victim. Yes, your loss is horrible and brutal but don't let yourself fall prey to being a victim. Nothing good comes from a victim mentality. Sadly, it is what it is, how can you learn, grow and become better as you grieve.

There are a million more, this is just a sample! I hope it speaks to your soul..

We Know Solveig from the time we all danced together with HUmmel Hummel dance group in Montreal.
We have very fond memories of those days, and of the beautiful girl Solveig with the Angelic voice. We knew then how talented she was.
I have been following her band, Comfortably Numb, hoping that one day they would be playing in Montreal so that we could meet once again.
Needless to say how shocked we were when we heard the news of her passing.
Our deepest sympathies go out to her children, husband and her mother Karin.

Today is your special day and I remember how much you liked celebrating your Birthday surrounded with the people you loved! I think the good Lord just felt your work on this earth was done! So he called you home to celebrate your special day in heaven, reunited with passed family and many friends! I am thinking of one little angel baby girl who was laid to rest on your special day some 19 years ago, at only four days old leaving her twin sister Namira with you ,but being happy of having her Mom finally all to herself !The candles are lit for both of you, the families you left behind especially your daughters Taliya and Namira! I was on holiday when I heard the sad news about Solveig’s passing. I was shocked and could not believe that this had happened. I have known Solveig since she was a young girl always with a smile on her face, modest and considerate towards other people. She showed a keen interest in music and dance and I still remember, when she was singing at Expo 67 the popular tune “Edelweiss” with the Two Mountain Chorus as back up! She had a voice like an angel! The greatest pain is not having had a chance to say good bye! Someday perhaps we will understand why God has called her away so soon!
Karin, it will be the little things remembered, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter, the tears. This seems hard right now but it will be memories of all these things that help push away the pain and bring smiles again! May the loving memories of Solveig bring comfort and heal your heart! Solveig’s memory will live in our hearts forever!

Karin, my prayer is that one day you and your lovely Solveig will be reunited and together with all your loved ones, for I believe death is not the end. Love does not go away with the earthly passing, but continues on.

Your beautiful daughter was a brilliant artist and had the voice of an angel...
Yes, she's gone too soon but God needed her with him ...Now everytime I look up I'll hear her sweet voice and smile..

I have no words and my heart is shattered in pieces! God called my beautiful daughter home! Being free of her pain, is the only thing I'm trying to understand? God must have had a very special plan when your shining light on this earth came to an end! The day we had to part left a big gaping hole in my heart. And the plans we once had will no longer be ! Your memory is my keepsake, with which I never part.
God has you in his keeping, but I have you in my heart. I close my eyes and I see you smile and think of you with all my love, keeping you in my heart forever,I just wish that I could go back and relive the past. I didn't realize just how it would happen so fast and I hope with all my heart this nightmare of lonely days will come to pass!

Today is your special day and I remember how much you liked celebrating your Birthday surrounded with the people you loved! I think the good Lord just felt your work on this earth was done! So he called you home to celebrate your special day in heaven, reunited with passed family and many friends! I am thinking of one little angel baby girl who was laid to rest on your special day some 19 years ago today, at only four days old, being happy of having her Mom finally all to herself !The candles are lit for both of you and the families you left behind! We will be celebrating with you in our hearts and minds, thinking of all the good times we shared together! Happy Birthday sweet Angel, may Angels light your heavenly way with peace and joy, gone from our sight, but not from our hearts!

There Is No Map To The Journey Of Life.

There is no book to the journey of life, and the road you are destined be mother or wife, will seem at times to have bedrock of fear but never forget sweat pea, I am always near.

Watch for the souls who like trees root in soil, for fear that their heart is the thing they will spoil. Don't let them lead you to alleys of dark, where you'll be forced to protect your light and your heart.

Some live as victors and challenge the past, some never get there and live as a cast. I know of life that the road is not clear, but you have your dad Claire, I am always here.

There is no map to the journey of life, so live to be whole, not just girlfriend or wife. Souls like ours need pasture and plane, and your soul, my love, will be restless, again and again.

As you journey ahead your spirit will speak, it is for home you are heading, it is home that you seek. Where that is only you can find, let your heart lead the way and just follow behind.

While I am out here ahead in some way, I hope the signs I write, you'll find on your way. Read them and do what you will, at the end of the day it's your heart to fulfill.

If there was a book to the journey of life, yours would be bound with the pain of my strife. It would heal and protect and ease your pain, and help you find your feet again.

No matter what the situation – even during the busiest time at year end – I can always count on the ladies in Purchasing to do all they can to help. They are always, courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. You can tell that there is a smile on their faces when you talk to them on the phone.
When I first started working at Algonquin, and was learning about the required procedures, the ladies we’re always there to help. All I had to do was ask, and they took time out of their busy schedules to help me out, or talk me through it. Even to this day, if I am unsure of something, they put their own work on hold to help out. They are committed to excellence.
How they help in a panic: the expediting of requisitions and issuing of Po's within hours, in order to allow emergency work/repairs to begin immediately by a company that will not proceed without a PO or during summer construction to ensure all is complete by the deadline for the new school year.
Their help is consistent and they are committed to the College’s values. If I leave a message, they always call me back right away. If I send an email, they always email me back in a timely manner – even if they are away from the College.
I hope you will choose them to receive the Star. They truly do deserve it.
