Dearest Sarah,
Remember the good old days on Depot Street? You and Sonia against DayDay and I on your front porch in a game of Spades.
I moved away and didn’t get to see Sonia grow up, but I always knew she was going to be successful at whatever she put her mind to.
Heaven has gained a true angel.
My deepest condolences to you and your family. She will truly be missed.
            Much Love,
            Rita

Sonia Johnson was a gentle, caring, and encouraging soul. She was a very integral part of both Mt Zion Baptist Church as well as Church of the Firstborn. I shall never forget how she'd empower me to remain in character despite difficult atmospheres. As my administrator, she kept me on target with my appointments and constantly reminded me of my engagements. Sonia was also an avid giver and this challenged me to step up my game. One thing I could count with Sonia, she was going to be faithful. There would be no doubt, if she said she would be in place, she would be there. Sigmund Freud said of death, "It is the gravest of misfortunes." But as believers, we know that she only sleeps. Family, you have my deepest condolences in the loss of such a stalwart in the faith.
