My name is Max Sinclair. I am a radiographer at Royal Papworth hospital.
I worked with Sonia in cath-labs at the start of my career. She was very kind and and joyful person to be around. She was a very wise and caring nurse .
My thoughts are with her family at this very sad time. She will be missed and remembered by all who worked with her at Papworth hospital.

My Dear Friend Sonia, you always had time to chat, time to listen, time to laugh and sometimes time to cry. There have been lots of tears over the past few months, but your are at peace now, no more pain, no more suffering.

We have to hold onto our memories now and my memory of sealing our friendship was your birthday, probably 10 years ago. We were at church that day and you told us it was your birthday, when we asked what are you doing, going to the cinema on my own! We rushed home wrote cards and wrapped presents and arrived on your doorstep to celebrate your birthday with you, the friendship started here.
You were part of our family from that day on, birthdays, days out, meals out or just chilling in the garden, you were there with us. Events at church we were a team working together, especially through the piles of washing up!
Our trips to drop you and pick you up from the airport, you were always so excited to get home to see your family.
Your wedding to Jaspreet was the most special time for all of us, you were so happy and ready to venture on the next chapter of your life as a married woman. Although we didn’t see each other as much, with work and then Covid, we both knew who we could call on if we needed anything, day or night, we would be there for each other.

Thank you for your friendship Sonia, rest in peace safe in Gods arms xx

Dear Sonia
Remember the old days
we use to laugh and play
Remember the old days
we said hey
Remember the old days
we use to go in church in Jalandhar
Remember the old days
we stood up and said a Bible verse
Remember the old days
we use to ride bikes
RIP Sonia

      In loving memory
      Of my dear ♥ sister
 My dearest darling sister
How can I find the words to say
To tell of how I miss you
Throughout every single day?
I miss our little chats and gossips
Living life without you
Is so very hard to bear.
And I'd give all I have to waken
And to see you standing with me.
(I LOVE YOU MY DARLING SISTER
   AND WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU)

You feel the effects from the loss of a loved one regardless of who you are. I did not know Sonia, but thank God she existed for her family, including my friends Suhela & Sharmila, and countless others. Sonia was one of the young great trees fallen into God's hands, so I would like to dedicate this poem to Sonia.
WHEN GREAT TREES FALL:
When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.

When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.

When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.

Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
of dark, cold
caves.

And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.

Sonia Sharmila Shad was the first child born to my younger brother Johnson & his wife Persis. I have known Sonia since the time she was born. In fact she was born in Patiala, Punjab, India, at our house while Johnson & Persis were on their vacation spending time with us. My second son Ashish Shad was born 17 days earlier.

For a while we had two babies in the house. If one started to cry the other one would join in the chorus. My son Rajiv who is three years older would run from one crib to the other to calm them down.

I have seen Sonia grow into a beautiful young lady. She excelled in her work as a nurse and was greatly praised by all those who worked with her.  God blessed Sonia, but God also, in His mercy saw it best to let her sleep at a young age. We are saddened by her passing away.

However, we look forward to the blessed hope of the soon coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ, for we know we will see her again. When she wakes up we will see Sonia smiling and free from all cares of this earth. All tears will be wiped away. What a day of rejoicing that will be. May God keep us all faithful and loyal to Him.

I've known Sonia from Rookee school, then I followed her in Indore and became best friends, after a short gap I again followed her and came to UK. I have lots of sweet memories of her to cherish a lovely and a bubbly person full of life. I met my wife through Sonia as they both were best friends, there's lots to share, but I would like to share my favourite poem and dedicate it to Sonia.
         She is Gone

You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back.
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.

Your hearts can empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want : smile, open your eyes, love and go on
Love you, Ajay & Jolly

Although it’s been some years since I worked with Sonia, the shocking news of her early passing has rippled through our UHW Cath Lab family. Sonia was a delightful person. Funny, kind, industrious and always had good thoughts for, and about, other people. Loyal to her faith in all she said and did. A caring and empathic Nurse who’s contribution to life will never be forgotten. I remember her lovely smile every time I think about her. Gone far too soon. Rest in Peace Sonia ❤️

Dear sister, I am blessed to have you in my life as a loving elder sister ❤️ I have no words to express how much I miss you...miss receiving messages from you and miss being able to talk to you. I wish you were still here with us. You had promised to visit us after covid was over, I wish I could see and talk to you once more. We had planned many fun and exciting trips together, those trips will not be the same without you. Your presence will always be missed and our lives will never be the same again
But I have hope...The bible says that God will open their eyes. No suffering, sickness, and pain. Those who did good, eternal life they’ll gain. This is the time for you to rest. So sleep tight my sister until we meet again. Love you and miss you lots ❣️

My dear Sister, Never thought you will leave us so soon. You are a special part of our lives, and now there is an empty space which will never be filled. We miss you and love you so much.
Our hearts will be broken forever. People tell us that with time, the pieces will eventually come back together. If this is true, though hard to believe now, there will always be a space. The piece to which has your name on its place.

I know Sonia when she was a cath lab nurse in London Bridge Hospital, I worked with her for almost 2 years, she was a good friend , with a good laugh, and she was a good cooked too. I do remember her cooking chicken curry for me every time I asked her that I miss eating the curry. We go home together because we used the underground , as I remember she lives in Stevenage with her brother. She was a good hard working staff. I am so saddened and still shock up to now that she already left us,becaused she even send me a message last Xmas time, dec 20 to be exact . I will truly missed her. A lovely person and will truly be missed by all the people she touched all her life. Fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly Sonia. To her family know that I am sharing in your sorrow and lifting you up in prayers.
