Sophia Clifton Wall, 98, of Highway, 39 N, Louisburg NC, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the loving care of her caregivers. She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Elizabeth Clifton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver W. Wall and son, Benjamin Thorpe Green and his wife Joan G. Green and son, William Thomas Pike.

She was a native of Franklin County and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Ms. Wall was a school teacher in the N.C. Public School system including Franklinton, North Carolina. She is survived by her children Sophia P. McCallister of Kiawah Island, SC, James C. Pike, Jr. and wife Lynn Pike of Loris ,SC, John H. Pike and wife Priscilla Pike of Oxford, NC, daughter-in-law Cathy Pike and Lana Pike and step-children Vann Wall Gardiner and Richard H. Wall. She is survived by 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and longtime friend, Johnson Burnette.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church located at 301 North Church Street, Louisburg, NC 27549. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Community Home Care and Hospice, 1242 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
