Before we left on deployment, a group of us went looking for adventure and we were tooling around Drum and came across a nice spot along the black river that had a rumored cave that the river went through.  We went wading through the river and sure enough we found this cave.  It was awesome to crawl through and went back several hundred feet and we were forced to crawl on our hands and knees.  Afterwards we all drank beer and thought that after we came back we should come back to that spot.

What I remember is Clay was full of wonder and excitement at the thought of discovery.  I have thought about that day for over a decade off and on because it was good and pure.
