SSG BRIAN THOMAS CRAIG, 27, born April 2, 1975 in Greenville County, South Carolina. SSG Craig was killed April 15, 2002, during hostile military action in kandahar, Afghanistan. He is survived by his parents, Rev. Arthur and Barbara Craig of Houston, Texas, a sister, Mrs. Elaine Hurtado and husband, John of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, and a brother Kevin Craig of Houston, Texas, two nephews and a niece, grandparents, Mrs. Estelle Craig of Inman, South Carolina, Mrs. Christine Boyette of Houston, Texas and Mr. Gene Boyette, Warner Robins, Georgia. Brian graduated from Klein Forest High School in 1993. <logo id = "543"/> He enlisted in the U.S. Army in the fall of the same year. He served in Anchorage, Alaska as an Airborne Infantry soldier. Upon reenlistment, SSG. Craig served in an elite Explosive Ordinance Disposal Group; 710 th E.O.D. Detachment, 3rd Ordinance Battalion, 520 th Ordinance Group, San Diego, California. SSG Craig served in a variety of E.O.D. missions in support of the United States and N.A.T.O. including service in Bosnia/Kosovo and The Republic of North Korea. And most recently was deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom to Kandahar, Afghanistan, November, 2001.
