It is still hard to believe that Ron is gone since knowing him for over 35 years. While he was a very simple individual, he had a good heart and meant well. Wish I could have been there for him back in April when his killer entered his home.

I met Ron 42 years ago when I was a teenager, through mutual friends. I hav'nt always lived in Lafayette but he was one of the first friends I reconnected with when I came back. Ron was such a nice guy that everyone loved. His group of close friends were the same friends he had as a young man. He was the type of person who would help anybody in need if he was able to. He ALWAYS, always had a smile on his face, and will be greatly missed. Rip

You were always very nice and honest with me! You sure did not deserve what happened to you! The person who did it will receive their punishment in this world or the next! I wish you could have been able to enjoy the home you worked so hard on for many years to come! Rest In Peace sweet man!

What stands out in my memories of Ron is how he was a collector of things. He saw value in what others would toss away, Ron could be driving his pickup truck down a street and spot something someone left curbside. He would stop and put it on the back of his truck. His mother Nelva was also a huge collector of things. She had her home piled high with stuff,
Florida Road Trip

Without a doubt Ron was unique. I remember taking Ron to see several pieces of property in Florida that he and his mother owned. He had never been to Florida and had never seen the Atlantic Ocean. I am glad to have introduced him to the Atlantic Ocean. It was enjoyable to see several waves pummel him
