BJ, thinking of your Dad and the times I met him - your wedding and the arrival of Summer and Zac. Each time I remember the twinkle in his eyes whilst sharing those moments of his proud family and having an excuse to celebrate with all. xx

Our memories of Stan are of his joyful face, always full of laughter. On the eve of Belinda-Jane and Neil's wedding in England, Stan needed his new suit trousers altered. I asked Stan to stand on the sturdy coffee table so that I could get the measurements of his inside leg!! Lynne and I could not stop laughing, as we were all reduced to tears rolling down our cheeks) as the delicate question of where the tape measure should be placed. (I blushed as I knew all along where the tape measure had to be placed). Once measurements were obtained, sewing was completed. Lynne and Stan really enjoyed the wedding it was a very happy day. My memories of Stan, is of course, that I know his inside leg measurement. Kind thoughts to you all, Maureen & Len Guilfoyle X

Stan was a tough boss but one of the best I ever had. I'll never forget the day I couldn't work because I was in bed sick & the next thing I heard was the truck pulling up outside mum & dads house, Then I heard Stan's voice at the front door talking to mum. I don't know what he said to her but 2 min later she opened my bedroom door and said "Sole. Get out of bed. Time to go to work". It was a stormy wet and cold Auckland night and one of the longest nights of my life. I was crook as a dog and the run took an extra hour because I was so slow - much to the distaste of my fellow milk boys. Stan would encourage me by yelling "Geeez we'll be here all bloody night hurry up McCabe" LOL. Xmas was a great time coz people would leave beer bottles out & being young teenagers we'd get a swig of Lion Red which made you feel like a man and Stan took all of us out in the back of the truck to Piha one year. The milk run was part of our growing up as young boys to men. We got fit, we got paid, and we got many stories. I'll never forget you Stan "the man". RIP mate. From one of your best milk boys (he never actually told me that but I know he thought I was ok lol).

I have many great memories of times at Beachlands and round Waiheke Island races on Kim's boat. A wonderful man who enjoyed nothing more than to be with his family, friends, and anyone else he could play tricks on! I was very lucky to have spent some Christmases with Stan dressed as Santa. A proper definition of a man's man who was also generous, caring and loving.

He gave me brilliant hospitality the first time I came to NZ. After that we used to regularly ring him at silly o'clock in the UK as we knew they would be the only ones in the World who would be up. Never fazed Top Lad Sorely Missed Xx
