I did now know your Dad personally Courtney but I know how much he meant to you and how much you loved him. He was your Dad, your Friend and Your Hero!~ As you say Good-bye to the man you called Dad, I will be thinking of you during this very difficult time. I will be keeping you close in thought during this very sad time and wishing you moments of peace and remembrance. May the memories of him, his laughter and his love, his guidance, and his support remain in your heart forever. I truly hope those good memories of him play over and over in your heart forever and bring you, your Mom and Cory comfort. I know you will miss his gentle touch, his sense of humor, walking you down the aisle at your wedding, but remember he will always be with you in spirit and in LOVE!~ Love from your PCU Mom, Ann

Good Samaritan

January 12, 2016

Once I came home, Stan was in his driveway, he called me over. He said, "do you know anything about baby birds?" A nest had fallen out of a tree. Stan managed to nurse a baby bird fully back to health. He kept it for quite a while until it could fly. The baby bird would cry as it would for its mother for Stan, until he fed it. That bird loved Stan, and when the time was right, and he learned to fly, he was released. Stan saved that birds life.

I had a cat, Bennie, for about two or three years that I loved dearly. Bennie would run up to greet me when I came home. He didn't care for many people other than Stan and myself. Sometimes I noticed he wouldn't come greet me anymore when I came home. I found out Stan had caught him staring into his front window and couldn't help himself but to let him in. Bennie spent many days hanging out at Stan's house and Stan cared for him just like I would. And when Bennie passed away, Stan buried him right at the edge of his fence where we would talk, so that Bennie could be right in the middle of us always.

Stan's love and compassion for animals spoke volumes of his character. He was a great, hard working man, with a wonderful heart. And he loved his family to no end. He reminded me much of my own father, who was also very close to Stan. After my father passed, I could count on Stan to be happy to help me with anything I needed, sometimes I wouldn't even need to ask. There are no words worthy to describe the vastness of his love and kindness.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Sherrie, Courtney, and Joe.

I will miss you Stan.
