A memorial service for Mr. Stanton Joe Luke, 69, of Oxford, will be Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2 p.m., Greenbrier Church of Christ.
Stanton Joe Luke of Oxford, AL- 69, died after a long illness on October 10, 2021, at UAB Hospital. He was born February 6, 1952, in Amarillo, TX, the son of Wade and stepmother Polly Luke and mother Betty Jo Goff. Stanton graduated from Amarillo High School, class of 1970. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy. Stanton married Marva Lynn Luke on July 17, 1971. Stanton was an avid ping pong enthusiast and member of the Oxford Table Tennis Club. He was also a member of the Greenbrier Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wade Luke, his mother, Betty Jo Goff, and his brothers Rodney and Danny Luke. He is survived by his wife, Marva Lynn (Clarke) Luke, his daughter, Chaney Billips and husband Kevin of Hiram, Ga; and son, Steven Luke and wife Holly of Oxford, AL. He is also survived by his brothers Stanley Luke and Bill Brewer, grandchildren, Derek, Tessa, and Isaac Billips, and Carter and Tanner Luke; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Greenbrier Church of Christ in Anniston, AL at 2 pm. Those who wish to honor Stanton may choose to make a donation to the UCP center at
