Stedman J. Wynnage 32, was born on June 5, 1991, the third child and only son to Stefan and Sherida Wynn and he answered when our Heavenly Father sweetly called his name on December 25, 2023.

Born into the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Family under the pastorate of the late Tommy H. Byrd, Jr, he fell in love with God.  In 2004, along with his family, he became a member of the Freedom Faith Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in both the Youth and Young Adult Choirs.  God blessed him with the opportunity to serve as worship leader at the Central Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved it there but always considered Freedom Faith home.  Stedman was a native Daytonian and was a proud product of Dayton Public Schools.  He was a 2009 graduate of Stivers School of the Arts and a Central State University, Class of 2013, graduate.

Stedman had a jovial and playful spirit.  His favorite color was blue.  His favorite day of the week was Sunday. His favorite number was “32”. His favorite scripture was John 3:16.  His favorite professional sports teams were the Tennessee Titans and the Orlando Magic. His favorite hashtags were #FOE;  #DemWynnBoys;  #MrWynnHimself and #WeWynn.  He was the biggest Kobe Bryant fan and he loved music.  While he sang R&B classics in the Tri-State area, he was most at home when he sang gospel music.  His greatest love was music until the light of his life was born on December 23, 2015.  His absolute favorite person in the world was his son.

Stedman was predeceased by his grandmothers, Mamie Jean Charles and Ruby Lee Patterson, uncle, Billy Holmon and cousin and lil’ homie Carter Clemons.  He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Selvyn J. Wynn, his parents, fiancé, Jené  White and bonus son, Dwayne Harris, Jr; devoted sisters, Schanel Wynn and Stefany (Jeremy) Byrd; sister/cousin, DiEisha Patterson and brother/cousin, Caleb Jones; nephews that he loved as his own, Shane and Shawn Wynn, Samuel Smith and  Solomon Harrison Byrd; grandparents, Arthur Patterson and Ezekiel and Anita Ward; mother of his child, Ashley Bass; aunts, Sarah Simmons, April Wynn, Diana Patterson, Melanie Timmons, Leticia Patterson Hicks, Tomiko Thomas and Dawn Ward; uncle, Hason Ward; favorite coach, father figure and friend, Jeff Hoskins; unofficial Godfather, Rev. Herman Branham; devoted friends, Terrence Glenn, Sr., Robert Johnson, III and Que Cowart; students and staff  of Meadowdale High School, Jefferson High School and Montgomery County Prep Academy and a host of cousins other relatives and friends who will forever cherish the memory of him.

Stedman,
Your light was always so bright and your presence alone exhibited excellence. I am beyond Grateful that GOD saw it fit, to bestow you not just upon my life, but the lives of others. Stedman I am so proud of the man that you’ve become. You truly displayed GODS love and it showed in everyone’s life that you’ve encountered. From your jokes, to your goofy moments, to the way you would encourage and uplift me.

You would always tell me “ain’t no need of worrying.” Because that’s something that I did often. You would speak life into any situation and stay positive even when something wasn’t okay. I thank you for your support, your kindness, your love, your friendship and for being the Man GOD called you to be. You left an impact on my life that I will forever and always be grateful for.

May GOD continue to hold you and love on you, as lead in heavens worship. I will forever be grateful that I was blessed to experience you. I love you always. Paint the sky blue for us!

I am so deeply saddened to learn of Stedman's passing. He was a joy to know as a student at Stivers School for the Arts. I remember his jovial personality and that radiant smile. I often called called him Steddy. It seemed such an appropriate nickname as he was always that same happy guy. There is no doubt he is singing with the angels for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. My heart and condolences go out to his mother, who always had a smile at the mention of Stedman's name, to his sisters who treated him as their own doll baby, his son who will grow up only with the memory of his daddy and Stedman's fiance, remaining family, loved ones and friends. He will be greatly missed and his memory cherished.

To: The family of Coach Stedman Wynn,

We were extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Coach Wynn. My grandson My'Cleon James ( MJ) is a student at Montgomery Preparatory academy and was coached by Stedman for basketball. Not only did the two of them develop a great team relationship they also had a close bond that was far bigger than just on the court. This loss is very devastating for him. Please know that our hearts go out to you at this difficult time and we will definitely keep you in our prayers.

With our sincere condolences,

My'Cleon James & Family
