Mama Stella Okenla

May 15, 2021
Mama as l always lovingly call  ,refer to her ,is actually my senior auntie .She has a heart of gold and generous as a person. She never leaves me empty handed when l visit her .She wrote me beautiful prayerful letters dotted with crosses on blue sheets of her writing pad .She gave me a name which she called me by throughout her lifetime.
One day mama was on her way to visit me at Aguda unannounced but was hit by a car before she could reach me ,thanks to God the car owner rushed her to the hospital nearby  before coming to report what had happened to me
How can l forget such a noble woman after my heart ?
Mama continue to  enjoy your peace in the Lord

Love for her community and dedication to serve them

May 15, 2021
Granny was a great pillar in the community which she lived in Surulere and many of her neighbours looked up to her and often consulted her for advice whenever they needed to (day or night her door was always open). .

I can vividly remember when she came over to spend some time with us in Ikoyi; I went to pick her up because I wanted to pamper and spoil her but after being with us for a couple of days Granny  was home sick and because she had received a phone call from her close friend Mrs Nichol and Mama Sunday her neighbour she told me she had to go back home. I didn’t want her to leave but She loved her community and missed her friends and neighbours and she told me in confidence that the quiet life in Ikoyi was not for her as she yearned the company of her neighbours. Her neighbours fondly called her Mama Okenla and she was like a surrogate mum to them all.
