Born on the Island of St, Martins, Scilly Isles in 1940, along with her twin brother William. Weighing only 2 1/2 lbs, William 3 1/2 pounds, Mom grew up to be one hell of a fighter. Another brother Michael would come along 7 years later.  Living on the Islands till age 15, she moved to Penzance, Cornwall.  In 1964 she married Harry Welby. She gave birth to 2 children. Susan and Linda. In 1974 she immigrated to America with her family. Always a hard woking woman, she worked at and retired from Kmart. A fantastic gardener, Mom was gifted with 10 green thumbs. Her garden always beautiful. A wonderful cooker as we'd say, her best was true Cornish Pasties, Scotch Eggs and Sausage Rolls. Mom acquired heart problems in the mid 90's, but she fought through. From open heart surgery, to stents, to finally a pacemaker. In January 2016 she found out that cancer had caught her. We were all devastated. Mom promised to fight on. That was her way, the only way. On the Morning of June 15th 2016, she lost that fight and passed peacefully in her sleep. Our hearts forever broken. Mom had many wonderful friends, whom I call friends today. I am blessed to have such wonderful memories of her with me. Together Dad and I try and go on. That is so hard since we miss her horribly and cry often. Mom will never be forgotten.
