I have been thinking about you a lot this month, and miss your gentle support. You use to often turn up at my work events, however eccentric and always made them feel so much better. You continue to inspire me and i wish you were here.
And the next night we went to Bob Hanson's send off at the Trades and Labour Club, tickets only. I went with Stella and John, we frequently spent Friday evenings together, usually in the Masons Arms. But I went home that evening with Pete, now my husband!
It's May 2020 now - 7 weeks into lockdown. I'm so glad you weren't ill through this. So many lovely friends came to visit you so often: it made things so much more bearable. There were great conversations. I try not to think about how people in similar circumstances are trying to cope now.
It's a beautiful day here today - Derbyshire's National Park that you fought so hard to preserve and sustain is looking its magnificent best, your garden too. We miss you.
Happy Christmas to Julia, Matt and Mick and the grandchildren, with love.
I remember a CND meeting when an East German, ahem, diplomat came to talk to us. He appeared, apparently, at 9am outside her front door in Hexthorpe waving a bottle of Scotch!
After the meeting, in the Mason's Arms, much amusment was provided by his poking fun at the Russians and asking us to explain what a "bang ger head" was.
We moved away from Doncaster in 1993 and lost touch but I still feel sad the she is no longer with us. She was a good woman and will be much missed.

I cant remember when i first met Stella, i think during my MA when i was first getting involved in Sheffield's heritage community. She was always very kind and supportive, understanding and encouraging, and joined in with several of my projects. She was an inspiration and im so pleased i met her and knew her even if just a litte bit.
