Stephen Wayne (Bill) Oakley, 86, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Brantwood Nursing Home in Oxford, NC.
A native of Person County, he was the son of the late Lester and Agnes Pucci Oakley. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Pastor Craig Currin. Burial will be in Stem Community Gardens in Stem, NC.
Surviving are five daughters, Rachel McFalls of Wilton, Mary Brown of Henderson, Judy Clayton of Kittrell, Melinda Parker of Creedmoor and Wendy Oakley of Durham, two sons, Dan Oakley of Oxford, Dale Oakley of Norlina, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, Malcolm Oakley and Larry Oakley, two sisters, Dotley Adcock and Mildred Humphries and a brother Jonah Oakley.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the Oakley family.
