I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Peyton. I knew him both as a neighbor just across the street and as a student at A&M Consolidated High School during his teenage years. What a wonderful and polite young man. I was proud to have him in my class; he participated in some of the extracurricular activities that I co-sponsored.  He was intelligent, focused and always a gentleman.  His parents were so proud of him.

I met Peyton over Zoom when we introduced each other. The very first zoom meeting with him told a lot about his personality and how much he cares for the team. Very sad to miss a person like him.

What a wonderful man, son, husband, daddy, sibling and friend to so many.
I would have loved to know Peyton as many of you were so fortunate to have him in your life. Peyton made life better for many people in a special way.

As Peyton's Mother my heart is warmed by the comments that have been made. I appreciate them so much. As I read them I am so sad that he has left us too early. The wound I have will not ever heal but in time will have a scar form to lessen the pain.  Please keep these kind thoughts of him in your heart and mind and imagine Peyton happy and in a much better place.

I first met Peyton over Zoom, introducing myself to him as he joined Oracle as our team’s VP. He was enthusiastic, warm, friendly and above all he listened and cared deeply for his team. His drive and energy shone through during a very difficult year. Managing a new team all via Zoom and during a pandemic. He rose to the occasion; his integrity and empathy are what I will miss most about Peyton.

I first met Peyton when he joined OCI as VP of Networking. I still remember our first remote meeting together like it was yesterday. He was very genuine and deeply cared about people, and about improving the health of the organization - work culture wise, we clicked immediately.

"This is a person that really cares about the well-being of humans" was my initial reaction. In the following months working for Peyton it was even more evident that he was an astounding leader - he would listen, take feedback, deliver on promises and stick up for you. Al. I miss working with Peyton - corporate leaders with dignity, human values and backbone, are rare and very hard to find.

Peyton, You were an amazing human and I am so thankful for the time I had with you. You loved your family and spent hours gushing about them. You were kind to me at Riot when it was just an insane place to work. I was pregnant with Blaze and flying from Austin to LA and you helped me transition to fully remote work so I could keep my sanity and still be a happy (employed) new mom. That was a huge gift to my family. (Which I’m thankful for to this day.) You and I would crack up over how ridiculous the industry was and somehow we loved it. You had big opinions and a big laugh. This is how I will remember you.

Where do I begin. I like a few here had a chance to work with Peyton at Riot Games shortly after I had joined in 2014. We had partnered to achieve some monumental technical innovations that changed how a lot of businesses in my vertical fundamentally operate today. This wouldn't have been possible without Peyton. His knack for assembling talented teams and moving boulders throughout our journey at Riot is something I think about often and share with my peers, colleagues, and individuals I've managed and grown. Aside from work, Peyton was larger than life, often gregarious and brash but genuinely caring, humble and honest. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and love ones. Rest in Peace my friend.

I worked with Peyton at Riot Games 7 years ago. He was starting up the Riot Direct team and it was my first team assignment as a data analyst. Peyton had amazing energy, drive, and would support the team tirelessly. Working with him really helped me find my way in my career. We stayed in touch after he left Riot and I know he will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Richard and I were so sad to hear that Peyton had passed. Visits with Peyton, Katy, Aiden and Brooklyn were one of the highlights when we visited our son and his family in Austin. Peyton, I will always remember all the good times we had with you and our family. Summer breaks in Laguna drinking cocktails during happy hour at K’ya, adventures on the Central Coast drinking LaVenture. That trip to Paris where you bought lobster and then lost me at the Louvre. When I finally came to Austin and you took us out on the lake. Through it all, evenings spent sipping nice wine were the best bits. You never commanded an audience in crowds but if I took the time to find you, one on one was always the best. I will remember you for so many things but first and foremost I will remember you for being such a great dad. You loved your kids with an overwhelming passion. You passed to them all of your best qualities - your kindness and gentle nature. You will be sorely missed my friend.

Peyton was my best friend. Throughout highschool and the few years before I joined the Navy, Peyton was my best friend.  He and his family always made feel as if I were one of them. Although we grew apart over the years, he was always in my most fond memories of my youth. From the girls we chased, the crazy antics that should have landed us in jail or at least grounded for life, to just taking Lauren somewhere she needed to go. I have always cherished these memories. In these memories and countless others Peyton has remained a part of my life. I wish I would have known Peyton as an adult, Peyton as a family man, Peyton as a businessman, but regretfully I did not. I'm glad though that amongst those different versions i knew him as Peyton the best friend. 

I considered Peyton a good friend, he was always kind to me and considerate. I first met him at Riot about 7 years ago, and we clicked quickly and used to keep each other periodically up to date with our lives, although the pandemic made it harder. I still remember how kind he was to me when I lost the Steve Wozniak business card he gave me, and the look of bemused shock on his face! It breaks my heart that he's no longer with us, and he will be greatly missed.

I met Peyton when he came in as a VP at Oracle. I was fortunate to work closely with him. Peyton brought a kindness and love for people that I've seen in few leaders. He opened lines of communication with the teams and showed compassion when people struggled. Peyton reminded me of the power of saying "thank you." He was always there to give good advice, share his experiences, and provide a positive perspective on any situation. I appreciate the support, time, and trust he gave me. My heart goes out to his family & friends. 

So sad to hear about Peyton. Our sons were in preschool together and we worked at Riot at the same time so I appreciated the chance to chat when we did. He was always positive, bright and talented. He will surely be missed.

My association with Peyton was very brief and only during his tenure in Oracle as our Org’s Vice President. To my pleasant surprise, I found him to be a very intelligent but also warm, kind and caring person who genuinely cared about his staff’s well being and someone who truly understood the challenges the workforce around the world is facing due to Covid. He used to do the Friday ‘Happy Hour’ zoom sessions every week and encouraged folks to join and sip a drink with him and chitchat (of-course virtually). I had never seen any individual of that stature and title doing that before for Team building.
I clearly remember an instance during the Christmas Holiday shutdown last year, we had a very high priority incident that came up while most of the Oracle staff was on vacation and I happened to be on call and after I resolved it, I got this personal slack from Peyton thanking me for the same and wishing me Happy Holidays! That was very kind of him even though not required of him. I am really sorry that he is no longer around but I wish him good luck in the afterlife…Rest In Peace Peyton!

I'm not surprised to see the same themes in other tributes here: Peyton was a remarkably warm, empathetic person -- not to mention incredibly sharp and thoughtful. I knew him from Riot, but was lucky to see him a few times after we had both left, and I was always struck by his ability to listen and convey genuine respect to anyone around him.

I'm so sorry to his family and anyone close to him. Rest in peace, Peyton.

I first met Peyton at Riot Games. I was in AP, trying to decipher an invoice from a network vendor. He came by to help. Two years later, he brought me into Riot Direct to be the teams finance embed. Eight years later, we have worked together at 3 companies. Everything good in my life I have because Peyton believed in me.

What impressed me most about Peyton as a leader was his appreciation for his team, he was always quick to credit the team when leadership praised his successes, and he always fought for his people.

What impressed me most about Peyton as a human being is that he was goodness, gentleness, strength, and sincerity personified. He was always there to listen, support, and cheer on a friend who needed it, no matter how trivial or outsized a problem may be.

I am better for having known you, Peyton. And I will miss you every day, forever.

I first met Peyton when he worked for Oracle. He came on as a new VP to our company. I did not have a ton of interactions with Peyton but to say he left an impact is an understatement. Peyton took the time to care about people, not just to pretend but to show a genuine concern for the well being of people. Peyton exuded such warmth and kindness. I didn’t have to work with him a ton to respect him and his leadership - he truly changed the game. I’m so sorry to hear about his passing, my thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who knew him. The world lost a good one.

I worked with Peyton at Oracle where he was part of our Zoom on OCI dream team. As part of this team, Peyton helped enable Zoom to serve up and support hundreds of millions of companies, workers, schools and students who transitioned from Work and School from Home to get through the Global COVID pandemic. Peyton was/is a huge talented RockStar. He had so much energy, tenacity and experience and always brought his A game. He was an incredible person to get to know. I am so sorry to hear that he passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May he rest in peace in Heaven. God Bless.

I worked under Peyton at Oracle, and regrettably only got to see him through zoom during this time. But even so, he had a warm presence that radiated and inspired others. It was clear from the beginning when he joined that he would make waves. I remember specifically saying to a coworker that he was bringing about a positive change, opening up communications, bringing feedback from front line workers and pushing back at the top. Pushing back on a culture of secrets by opening up. He truly did have a positive impact on others, including making sure people were properly compensated for their work. It was not lost on him that while we had work to accomplish we are all people. In a world of corporate yes men, he had the courage not to be. Its rare to meet people along the way who can make that kind of impression. My sincerest condolences for your loss.

My partner and I became friends with Peyton while working with him at Riot. He was a great friend to both of us, and a genuine, caring person, stopping to ask us and others through the halls, how they were doing. Peyton oozed that warm charisma that often found our weekend hangouts lasting late into the evening or extending into some of our best memories while living in LA. Peyton's quick-witted, and welcoming way of making me feel like I'd been his friend all along, always made every interaction with him and his family full of laughter and comfort. Peyton made others smile, both in his kind words but also his puns, dad jokes, and way of always laughing even in crazy times.
He always kept my wine glass full and reminded me good wine is worth it.

We last saw Peyton in Austin, even while living many states away. Through the years we always looked forward to when we got to see Peyton and Katie, no matter how recent our last weekend adventure was. Peyton inspired us to lighten up with the imperfections of parenting, always joking with Aiden even when you could tell Peyton wanted to scream.

No words can describe the appreciation we have for Peyton or every single time we got to see him, every smile shared, or each and every memory of him while we had the privilege of calling him our friend.

I got to know Peyton through working at Riot Games. He was such a generous and supportive teammate, and that carried through into our friendship. He was always available to share a laugh with, talk through a tough situation with... if he could figure out a way to help, he would. May his gentle and kindhearted spirit live on through his family.

I met Peyton only a couple of times when he and Katy lived down the street from our family. Despite having only met him a couple of times he vouched for me with Whole Foods regarding my character when I applied for a position in the corporate office. He followed up with me about the process to see how it was going. Very warm and inviting. My wife and I would laugh watching Peyton run after Brooklyn when she would take off up the sidewalk in her bare feet and he would scoop her up and carry her back to the house. Rest In Peace. Katy we are here for you and the kids.
