Steve Allen Angstadt passed away at home on September 20, 2018 in Hoover, AL. Born in Oley, PA on
December 26, 1955 to the late Mabel Pearl and Daniel Angstadt, he was
the youngest of six children. A graduate of Oley Valley High School and
alumnus of East Stroudsburg University, Steve was a self-employed handy
man and a bus driver for Hoover City Schools. He married his college
sweetheart, Connie, in Clarks Summit, PA and they enjoyed drinking
coffee together for 39 years. Having grown up on a farm, Steve had a
deep appreciation for nature and all God’s animals (except for garden
pests). Steve enjoyed
playing pool and participated in a league; he appreciated the skill of
the game, but he enjoyed the conversation and friendships more. He could
fix just about anything and he built beautiful things. He was a devoted
gardener and grew the most amazing tomatoes. He found great joy in
sharing his harvest. Steve liked to help people. He loved his family
and always treated his friends and his loved ones’ friends like they
were family, too. Steve is survived by his wife, Connie Judge
Angstadt; his children, Kaitlyn Brown (Keith), Bridget Mitchell (Cole)
and Frank Angstadt; his grandson Frank Brown; his brothers, Charlie
Angstadt (Carol) and Levi Angstadt (Doris) and his sister-in-laws Judy
Morrisseau and Joyce Angstadt and a community of friends and neighbors
whom he also loved. He is predeceased by his brothers Peter Angstadt, Robert Angstadt (Nancy) and Roy Angstadt.
A funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4600 Preserve Parkway, Hoover, AL on Monday, September, 24 starting with a visitation at 4 pm and a Mass following at 5 pm. Donations may be made in Steve’s name to the Birmingham Humane Society.
