Steve was involved in many sports but loved the water most. He lettered in swimming during high school.

Steve did 2 tours of Vietnam as a water pilot rescue diver.

When we bought our first house it had a swimming pool and would swim almost daily. He even tought Scott how to scuba dive in that pool. Sometimes he would come home after a long day and  put that tank on and sit in the bottom of the pool for hours. One time a storm was coming I had to take the broom at hit the water to get his attention or he would have stayed in there during the storm!

We had some amazing times together. We loved to be outdoors. When we lived in Austin and Dallas I think we went to every campground around. He loved to take the kids hiking, fishing, you name it, if it was outside we did it.
