ForeverMissed

I created this memorial in memory of the man, (no myth!) the legend-Steve Miller, 56 years forever young, born on May 22, 1964, in Dillon, SC. We will remember him forever, because he was NO ordinary man. He was extraordinary. He had some demons as we all do at one point. But to know him truly...you know he was fierce, loyal to his loved ones, loved hard and played hard. I have no doubt where he is tonight...catching a glimpse of everything going on down here, looking over all of us. Until you meet me at the gates of Heaven my dear brother..

Thinking of you more today; saw someone with a Steve Miller band t-shirt on. I laughed. Fatback misses your face Bubba. But I'll try not to cry so the tears won't put your light out..

His Life

Charlotte - our early memories

September 27, 2023
I will always have the best memories of us living in Charlotte during the early years. It was hard, but I had no clue, thanks to my siblings. Mostly Karen, Steve and Wanda because we all lived together. Christmas 1977, Steve taught me to ride my bike, and we went Christmas caroling around Pierson Dr. He always added in his "extra" parts on Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer lol. We played at the church playground across from the house. I was there one day by myself, getting ready to walk home, and was approached by a neighborhood boy that had walked up; he was around Steve's age, 13-14. I didn't understand why he wanted me to take off my shirt because it was so cold. Steve was calling for me to come home as he was walking to the park. Steve saw the boy and that was it. All I remember was Steve beating the life out of that boy, screaming "that's my little sister!" When we got home, he told Mama. That evening, that boy and his mom showed up at our door and Mama told her a few choice things. Plus threatened to beat her and her son if she heard of him near her kids. I believe they moved some time after that hahahahahah
Living on Darbrook Dr. was adventure lol Steve broke his arm on his skateboard that year. I tagged along with him and Karen to the store and tennis courts a lot. They stole a pack of cigarettes and I wanted to be like them, so I stole M&Ms (Lord). Then they fussed at me for doing that lol Okkaaay.  Steve stole my whole Halloween candy bag, which Mama made him give back what was left after he and his friends ransacked it! He had to walk to Winterfield Elementary School to "pick me up". A snow storm was coming, and school let out early. We walked to Eckerd Drugs around from the house and I begged him to take "free" pictures at the Polaroid table Lol He did, bless him. Many good memories <3
