A great man was lost on December 2nd. I am so sorry for your loss. I smile every time I think back on when he flew over to CWU just to take you for a plane ride and you let me go with you. I will miss my friend of so many years. Steve was my friend from our early years in junior high school through college and continued through the last 60 years. While our lives went in different directions, when we came back together it was as if no time had passed. We even noted on our high school 50th anniversary that the level of comfort was the same even though we were seventy and not sevent

Grandpa, remember when we hunted for golf balls in the pond or how we would sneak in cookies when grandma wasn’t watching? Or all the times we sat eating ice cream and watching ‘Wheel of Fortune.’ Those moments I will remember forever. I want you to know, that you will always be in my heart. I love you Grandpa.

Dad, you have taught me so much about life. Now when I stand on top of that ski hill, you will no longer be at the bottom coaching me down, but watching from up above reminding me of which way to turn, not to go too fast, and to enjoy the run. Your spirit lives on when I see a part of you shine in my boys. I will always keep you close and be forever grateful that you were my dad.

We miss you and continue to celebrate you every day through stories told for the first or maybe even the tenth time. The boys never get tired of hearing them and Johnny loves to tell them in such a way, that I can almost hear your voice coming through and see that grin you would get on your face.

One thing for sure - time heals very slowly. I can speak for all of us.
You must be very proud of your Grandboys - they are awesome!
