Damn it ! Steve !
Thank You
Dwyane
Steve is greatly missed here. I send my sincerest condolences to the Leder Family and truly hope that the numerous fond memories of Steve and his legacy at PG&E provide some comfort during this difficult time.
He was a hard working and dedicated PG&E employee. He seemed to have endless energy and was always on the move, he would laugh when I called him the Energizer Bunny. He was a great person to work for, and he was always willing to share anything he could to help you be success. He will be missed by many. I send love and prayers to Susie and the children.
When I was an attorney on the 2011 GRC, I was delighted to learn that Steve would be one of my witnesses. He was as fun to work with as he was to ride the bus with. He filled every moment with joy and humor. I was devastated to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed.
I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Much love.
Sending my prayers and condolences to Steve's family...
My sincere condolences to Steve's family.
Maybe my favorite memory of Steve was at a very windy HR picnic in Alameda a few years ago. He and Chris Pickett were flying these great, colorful kites and laughing. I had the chance to meet Steve's wife, Susie Leder that day and learn more about Istanbul. Thanks to her, we actually went to Turkey last summer and had a great time.
Sending so many positive thoughts to the Leder family. We will always miss Steve."
I respect Steve for all the knowledge he had, his ability to influence at all levels, and his care for all around him. Steve has touched countless lives, and he will forever be missed.
I worked with Steve when he was chief of staff and then more closely when he returned to HR. You could always count on Steve to provide an honest answer and it was always in the spirit of doing the right thing.
We miss you, Steve! Very much.
All the best and Hugs, to Susie and the kids.
Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer. - Romans 12:12
I will always remember Steve and he will be greatly missed.

I miss you.
Damn it ! Steve !
I love the verse in the Gospel of Matthew (16-17) where the Lord "Ye shall know them by their fruits, Do men gather grapes of thorns, or thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit."
I often think about you Steve in my daily PG&E duties. Everything you did was good -- I often see your good daily works in all of us who knew you. Know doubt your children will carry on the greatness you demonstrated to all who know you and who came in contact with you. I have no doubt that your goodness, kindness and generosity will carry on in them.
I miss you and think of you often. One day we will meet on the other side of the veil and as I look for you I will here "Cooopaaarr!!!" I will laugh and give you a big hug.
Miss and love you my brother.
Shawn
"Coooo-paaar"
There is a rarely a day that goes by at PG&E where a memory or a thought of our good friend Steve does not come to mind. Here we are a few months after his passing and just yesterday, a "Poliitcal" HR question came up and my first thought was - i need to call Steve to get an answer.
For background, I first met Steve when he was a young assistant to Barbara Coull Williams who was the VP of HR at PG&E at the time. It was at an event in Stockton and the date was probably around 1985. Since that time, we became great friends and i was fortunate to work closely with Steve when he was Chief of Staff to John Simon and then Chris Johns our President.
Steve's trade mark with me was every time he saw me, no matter if we were in a a meeting, a reception -- or just walking down the streets in San Francisco, he would always greet me on the phone or in person with a Coooop-paaaar!!! Everytime, it brought a big smle to my face. It was so distinct that if we were in an O&D meeting with 300 people and i heard that outloud -- it was always "yep, thats Leder".
Steve had a way of always looking for the best in people, alway bringing humor to a tense moment when a little bit of lievity was needed and when he talked to you, he was geniune in his conversation with you.
To many of us, Steve was a brother, to some others a counselor, a mentor, truly a leader, and most importantly a great husband and father.
There was rarely a time when we served as Chiefs of Staff together and we were having one of our dailly conversations that he would not mention his family in or conversation. I can remember the joy and pride he had when we discussed the college search trips with his kids.
Steve was a great human being whom we dearly love and miss -- see you on the other side my friend. Coooo-paaar!
