Steve proposed three years after we started dating.  He enlised our friend Jen O'Mara to run with me, where he would intercept the run on Baker Beach.  After Jen made a quick exit, Steve pulled me aside, got down on one knee and proposed, with a shaky voice and tears in his eyes.  I of course said yes, since I had been waiting impatiently for this day to come!  He then pulled some champagne and glasses out of his backpack and we toasted to new beginnings.  

A year later we got married, with little fanfare and very little notice, on July 8, 2009 (07.08.09) across from the Legion of Honor on an unusually warm summer (SF winter) day.  That night we celebrated with friends and family at the Bamboo Hut (the Evite had gone out a few days before).  A month later we had a reception for our families and had several events for our families to meet.
