Service will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at Gateway Cathedral (5501 Olive Road/Trotwood Oh). Visitation will begin at 11:00am and service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment at West Memory Gardens.
Steven Orlando Snowden Sr “Pittsburgh”, age 55, was born January 11, 1967 in Dayton, Ohio. Born to Brenda Snowden and the late Bert Herd. He passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father Bert Herd, paternal grandmother Veradella Herd, and maternal grandfather Edward Snowden.
Steven graduated from Dunbar High School in 1985. During that time he worked his 1st job as Manager at McDonalds. He then went from hamburgers to cars. He acquired his passion for cars at an early age. He would go on to work at many car shops and dealerships, and even owning his own shop in Fairborn, Ohio. Once he picked up those tools he wouldn't stop until the car was back rolling. Afterwards, he continued to work on cars in his yard for many many years, until his untimely death. Throughout the years as a mechanic, some of his loyal customers turned into close friends and family. Steven was loved by so many. He had such a gentle kind spirit, people adored being in his presence. He may have been the biggest, most loyal Steelers fan you know. I’m pretty sure his blood is yellow. Understandably how he became known by the name Pittsburgh. He loved his children tremendously, but loved being a grandfather even more. He often spoke about his children and grandchildren with pride to whoever he came in contact with. Steven Mack, as he called himself, was definitely the ladies man. He took his “Macking” serious, and he understood the assignment. Women held life long crushes on Steven Orlando Snowden.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted mother, who spoiled him rotten, Brenda Snowden. 7 children who majority stayed by his bedside until his very last heartbeat; LaShonna Snowden, Shakeya Snowden, Geneo Davis, Steven Snowden Jr, Chambray Snowden, Eurae Snowden, and Hezekiah Snowden. 8 grandchildren; RJ, Brooklynne, Makyla, Sha’Karie, Dior, Saige, Adore, Baby Steven (III). 2 bonus grandchildren; Logan and Jace. Grandmother Idella Snowden. 8 brothers Anthony “Tink” Snowden, Robert Meredith, Todd Grubbs, Todd Hill, Tony Hill, Milan Daniels, Brian Herd, and Allen Lovelace. 2 sisters Amy Nicholas, Rhonda Kelly. A gang of awesome aunts; Saundra (Buddy), Cynthia, Judy (Alvin), Joan, Loretha, Vanessa, Heresa, and Terryron (Terry). 2 uncles Tony (Yvonne), and Timothy. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends. A few close cousins Louis Snowden, Dion Lindsey, Jimmy Snowden, and Ronald Muhammand. Special friends Chuck M., Geno W., James P., James L., Brandon F., Cowboy, Malcom too many to name. If I have forgotten any one's name please charge it to my head and not my heart, but you know who you are and what you meant to Steven.
